The club’s woes are further complicated by yet another injury. Artyom Zub was forced to leave Saturday’s contest, leaving the Senators to finish the contest with just five defencemen. Zub is questionable for Monday. The search for s silver lining is a struggle for even the most optimistic Senators betting fan. Tkachuk has mustered just one goal and two points over his past five road outings. Alex DeBrincat’s two points in Arizona represent his only production so far in 2023, while Tim Stutzle has failed to record a point while going minus-6 in three games since seeing a seven-game points streak end.
St. Louis Blues
The Blues continued to feel the effects of the recent wave of injuries to hit the team during their current two-game slide. The club has seen several of its biggest stars head to the clinic since, including forwards Vladimir Tarasenko and Ryan O’Reilly, and defenceman Torey Krug. Those absences are reflected in the Blues’ recent production, with St. Louis shooters scoring just three times over their 0-2-0 run, and tallying just 2.40 goals per game while going 2-3-0 over their past five home contests.
Pavel Buchnevich has stepped up to fill the offensive void. The Russian veteran scored once in Saturday’s loss to Tampa Bay, and has averaged a point per game over his past seven home appearances. Things have not gone as well for veteran forward Brayden Schenn, who piled up three goals and six points during a four-game road trip to kick off 2023, but has failed to record a point in five straight home appearances.
