Sabres vs. Canucks NHL Betting Odds
The Canucks play host to the Sabres tonight to wrap up their two-game season series, hoping to even things up at a game apiece. They met early in the season on October 19 and the Sabres took it 5-2 on a full team effort. Kyle Okposo had two points (1G, 1A) and was one of four Sabres with a multiple-point game and Craig Anderson stopped 32 of 34 shots in net. The Canucks have seen 71 percent of the betting action so far.
All of their past four matchups have played the Over and that has 73 percent of the public betting that way.
The Under is 6-3 in the Sabres’ past nine games bringing their record to 28-29 on the year. They have split their past 10 games 5-5 against the spread maintaining their 34-28 record ATS.
Vancouver’s last 10 games have been high-scoring playing the Over 8-2. They did not cover the spread in back-to-back games but still have a 36-27 record ATS.
Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres picked up their third win in their last four games, thanks to Tage Thompson’s overtime winner in a 1-0 game versus the Calgary Flames. Dustin Tokarski stopped all 24 shots on the net picking up his second career shutout.
Tage Thompson has emerged as an offensive weapon this season, leading the team in goals (25) and points (45). The 24-year-old shattered his previous career-high of 14 points in a season.
The Sabres return home to Buffalo on Wednesday to face the Penguins.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks have now dropped back-to-back games after last night’s 5-2 loss to the Flames. Thatcher Demko was pulled after two periods, allowing four goals on 29 shots.
As usual, the Canucks turn to J.T. Miller to carry the load offensively tonight. The 29-year-old is having his best year on the scoresheet with 73 points through 61 games. He is trying to shake his three-game goalless drought.
Two points out of a playoff spot, the Canucks will need to catch fire in their final 19 games.
