Predators vs. Jets: Game 4 Prediction, NHL Playoff Odds

This series continues to get better and better, between the two top teams during the regular season. Expect more of it here in game four.

Predators vs Jets Stanley Cup Playoffs Betting Analysis

In the last two games of this series, the Jets and Predators have combined for 20 goals total. Overall, in the last eight meetings between these two teams, the over is 6-2. The Predators now down two games to one in this seven game series are now 1-4 in their last five meetings in Winnipeg. The home team overall head-to-head is 4-1 in the last five games played. Of note, the Predators are 7-1 in their last eight games played on Thursday night.

Nashville Predators

The Predators were scratching their heads Wednesday at practice, probably thinking about the game that got away from them. In enemy territory, they had the Jets right where they wanted them, but let it slip away. Vezina candidate Pekka Rinne has been very shaky in this series, and if the Predators want to tie it up before heading back home, his play will have to change. The Predators also must stay out of the penalty box. With the game tied at four, the team took three minors in the final nine minutes of the game, allowing the Jets to answer to score a power-play goal, and chip in two empty netters in the 7-4 victory.

The Predators have to be hoping that Kyle Turris breaks out of his post season slump. During the regular season he was a force on the team’s second line after being acquired mid-season picking up 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists) in 76 games. But so far in this post season, he has three points, and has yet to score a goal in nine games.

Winnipeg Jets

It was a massive bounce back period (second) for the Jets in game three. After allowing three goals on 12 shots (first three goal period for Connor Hellebuyck since December 14, 2017), they accounted for seven of the next eight goals scored in the game. Dustin Byfuglien was the best player on the ice for either team, scoring two goals in a post season game for the fourth time in his playoff career. There are a couple of ticking time bombs in the Jets line-up, and at any time they are bound to hit the goal scoresheet. Patrik Laine is goal-less in his last six post season games. He has 22 shots on goal in those goal less, including 15 in the last two games.

Kyle Connor has yet to score a post season goal in eight games. He netted 31 during the regular, and has a knack of scoring in bunches. Of note, forward Mathieu Perreault has been medically cleared and could return to the line-up for game four. Perreault missed six post season games with an upper-body injury he sustained in game one against the Minnesota Wild. In the regular season, he chipped in with 17 goals and 27 assists in 70 games.
