The Edmonton Oilers visit Minnesota on Tuesday, looking for their first win over the Wild since February of 2019.

The Oilers had a six-game win streak snapped Saturday at home in a 2-1 shootout loss against the league-leading Avalanche. Minnesota, on the other hand, got back in the win column Sunday night, after a mini two-game slide.

The Wild are the -148 favourites to win on the NHL odds, with a total of 6.5.

Oilers vs. Wild NHL Betting Odds

The Wild are looking to sweep this season’s head-to-head series after beating the Oilers 4-1 in December and most recently 7-3 on Feb. 20. The Wild’s Mats Zuccarello has picked up four points (1G, 3A) so far in the season series.

Minnesota has won the last five head-to-head matchups versus Edmonton, playing the Over 3-2. About 84 per cent of early bettors are taking the Over for this one.

The Oilers have played the Under in their past three contests, bringing their Over/Under record to 38-32. They have allowed two goals or less for the past four games, their best defensive stretch of the season. In their past 10, they are 4-6 ATS, bringing them to 34-39 ATS on the year.

Minnesota is 40-28 on the Over/Under this season, playing the Over in each of their past three games. They have split their past 10 ATS, still looking to even their 34-37ATS record on the year.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers had their six-game win streak snapped Saturday night in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Warren Foegele scored for Edmonton as they were held to a single goal for the first time since March 7. This was also the first time since March 7 that both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were kept off the scoresheet.

Despite the loss, goalie Mikko Koskinen was strong, stopping 33 of 34 shots. Both he and Mike Smith have been solid lately, with the tandem keeping opponents to two goals or less in six of the past nine games.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild had lost back-to-back games before their comeback win at home Sunday night versus Los Angeles. Minnesota trailed 3-0 at one point in the first period. Matt Boldy, Jacob Middleton and Jared Spurgeon all had two points in the 6-3 win, pulling the Wild into a tie for second place in the Central Division.

Marc-Andre Fleury backstopped Minnesota in the win, so expect to see Cam Talbot back in the crease tonight as the two goalies have been splitting starts.

Kirill Kaprizov’s 89 points currently has him tied for seventh in league scoring. He already set the Wild’s single-season franchise points record and with 11 games to go, the sky is the limit for the Russian sophomore.
