Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings Prediction, NHL Odds
The Oilers halted a worrisome two-game slide and devastated San Jose’s playoff hopes with a decisive 5-2 road victory on Wednesday night, and enter the final weekend of the campaign with a slender one-point lead over Vegas and Anaheim in the divisional standings. Winners in three straight, all on home ice, capped by Thursday’s 4-1 victory over Vancouver, the Kings cling to the second wild card spot in the West, just one point up on Nashville as they get set for their final home date of the season.
The Kings lead the way as razor-thin -118 favourites on Saturday’s NHL odds. The Oilers closely trail as a -102 bet and the total is pegged at 6.5.
Oilers vs. Kings NHL Betting Odds
These clubs split their first two meetings of the season, with the road team emerging victorious in each, capped by the Oilers’ crushing 8-1 win in LA on February 26. With that victory, the Oilers halted a three-game head-to-head swoon, and also a three-game losing streak at Crypto.com Arena. While their last two dates have been high-scoring, generating wins for NHL totals bettors taking the OVER, low scoring has been more commonplace, with the total topping 5 just twice in their previous 10 tilts, powering a 9-1 run for the UNDER. The Oilers have struggled on the road of late, winning just seven of 14 since mid-January but have claimed the outright victory in three of their past five when tagged as road dogs. However, the club’s struggles to shut down opposing shooters in recent outings is a concern, with the Oilers allowing 4.33 goals per game over their past three contests after surrendering just eight total goals during a preceding five-game win streak. The Kings have resuscitated their playoff hopes by winning five of their past seven, and have rediscovered their scoring touch during their current 3-0-0 run, potting 14 total goals. But with just five total goals scored in each of their past two games, the UNDER has paid out in each.
Edmonton Oilers
With Leon Draisaitl on the shelf with a lower body injury that has sidelined him indefinitely, Connor McDavid stepped up his game in Wednesday’s win over the Sharks, getting into every Oilers goal with three markers and a pair of assists. McDavid has now picked up four goals and three assists in the past two games, and contributed eight goals and five helpers during a sizzling five-game points streak on the road that includes a two-point performance in the Oil’s 8-1 rout of the Kings in late February. With McDavid on a mission, it is tough to ignore him on Saturday’s NHL player props, where he offers good value as a +105 bet to score at least one goal and a -125 wager to pick up 2+ points. Rearguard Evan Bouchard has also remained red hot. With his two assists versus San Jose, Bouchard extended his current overall points streak to four games, and has racked up a goal and seven assists during a four-game points streak on the road.
Los Angeles Kings
The duo of Adrian Kempe and Artemi Panarin maintained their recent torrid pace in Thursda’s win over the Canucks. Panarin setup a pair of goals, and has now tallied a goal and six helpers this month, and 23 points in 20 games since arriving in LA ahead of the NHL trade deadline. Panarin’s two helpers came on a pair of goals by Kempe, who has scored eight times and compiled 11 points over the past six games while scoring twice in three of his past four outings. However, has failed to score in his two previous appearances versus the Oilers this season.
