Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings Prediction, NHL Odds
The Kings have been idle since posting a 5-3 victory in Detroit on February 2, and have posted wins in four of six contests. The Edmonton Oilers travel to Los Angeles after opening their two-game road trip with a 3-0 win in San Jose on Monday that marked their seventh victory in their past 10 overall contests.
LA is a slim -129 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with a total of 6.5.
Oilers vs. Kings NHL Betting Odds
Tuesday night’s matchup at Crypto.com Arena marks the second of four regular season meetings between these Pacific Division rivals. The Kings rolled to an easy 5-1 victory when they visited Edmonton back on December 5. However, it is the Oilers that hold the edge in recent head-to-head action, posting wins in seven of 11 clashes since February 2018, including a 4-2 victory in their last visit to LA almost two years ago. Home teams have come up short in the past two meetings, ending an eight-game win streak. And high scoring has been commonplace, with at least six total goals getting scored in five of the past six. Results have been mixed in totals betting, with the UNDER currently on a 4-3-3 run.
LA has scored nine total goals during its current 2-0-0 run, and has averaged 3.71 goals over its past nine home dates. However, the Kings have seen the UNDER pay out in seven of 12 home dates. After struggling at both ends of the ice during a preceding two-game losing streak, the Oilers have settled down considerably over their past two contests. The club has outgunned opponents by a 6-1 overall margin in their past two outings, and has seen the UNDER pay out in seven of their past nine outings.
Edmonton Oilers
After failing to score in his four previous outings, Connor McDavid finally found the mark in Monday’s win over the Sharks, and has now racked up four points over his past three outings. Leon Draisaitl has continued to struggle, scoring just once in his past five appearances, but has not gone two straight road games without a goal so far this season. The Oilers have produced mixed results in the back half of games played on consecutive nights, winning just four of 10 overall, and just two of their past five on the road.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings earned at least a point in each of the dates on their recent six-game road trip, including character wins in Detroit and Pittsburgh in their past two outings. Trevor Moore, Viktor Arvidsson, and Phillip Danault have led the way. Moore has contributed two goals and two assists over the past two games, while Danault and Arvidsson have contributed a combined seven points over the past three contests. Jonathan Quick and Cal Petersen have evenly split goaltending duties over the past 14 games, and allowed just 2.91 goals per game over that stretch.
