The Edmonton Oilers are heavy favourites against the Anaheim Ducks on the NHL odds.

Oilers vs. Ducks NHL Betting Odds

Wednesday is the second of four regular-season meetings between the Pacific Division rivals. One of the bigger upsets of this NHL season was when Edmonton was -350 at home vs. Anaheim on Dec. 17 and lost 4-3.

John Klingberg had the game-winning goal at 6:08 of the third. Ryan Strome had a goal and an assist, and Sam Carrick and Cam Fowler also scored for the Ducks. Mason McTavish had two assists. Lukas Dostal stopped 46 shots.

Connor McDavid had tied the game 3-3 at 2:06 of the third. Darnell Nurse and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins also scored, Leon Draisaitl had two assists and Stuart Skinner finished with 13 saves as the Oilers outshot the Ducks a whopping 49-17. Anaheim did dominate in the faceoff circle.

The total has gone over in seven straight meetings.

Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton started a four-game overall trip with a 6-3 loss at the LA Kings on Monday as the home side scored two goals in each period and the Oilers one in each. Edmonton’s penalty kill has been an issue this season and was wretched Monday in allowing four PP goals on seven chances. The Oilers have now surrendered 42 power-play goals this season, which is tied for the most in the NHL with the Ducks. On the flip side, the Oilers were 0-for-6 with the man advantage. Stuart Skinner gave up three power-play goals to the Kings before coach Jay Woodcroft turned to Jack Campbell, who will start this one as Skinner is flying back to Edmonton for the birth of his first child. Connor McDavid did have his 34th goal in the loss. Edmonton is 4-1 in its past five following a loss of at least three goals.

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks are among the NHL’s worst teams and it showed in a 7-1 home embarrassment vs. Boston on Sunday. Trevor Zegras had the lone goal, his 12th of the season. John Gibson followed up his 35-save shutout win over the Stars last Wednesday with one of his worst games of the season in allowing all seven goals and has surrendered four or more goals in 15 of his 27 appearances. It might be Anthony Stolarz (3-5-0, 4.01 GAA, .891 SV) here. Forward Justin Kirkland was involved in a car accident while driving to Sunday’s game and was hospitalized but expected to be OK. Kirkland signed with the Ducks last July as an unrestricted free agent from the Flames but doesn’t have a point in seven games. Anaheim is 9-21 in its past 30 at home.
