Anthony Stolarz injury

The 31-year-old Stolarz suffered the injury during a 5-2 loss against the Boston Bruins on Nov. 11 and he hasn’t skated since.

In 13 games this season, Stolarz is 6-5-1 with a 3.51 goals-against average and an .884 save percentage. Playing in his second season with the club, the New Jersey native signed a four-year, $15 million contract extension with the Leafs in September.

Along with the injury update, there is also some good news as Stolarz is expected to resume skating on Friday. However, there is still no timeline for Stolarz’ return.

Injury bug

Stolarz is far from the only Maple Leafs player dealing with an injury at the moment. Forwards Auston Matthews, Matthew Knies and Nicolas Roy as well as defencemen Brandon Carlo and Chris Tanev are all out with injury and it’s unlikely any of them will play when Toronto hosts Columbus on Thursday night.

The Leafs are so injury plagued, Thursday’s home game against the Blue Jackets is listed as a pick’em. That might be decent value for Toronto given Joseph Woll has looked good in two games since returning to the crease.
