Following a 3-2 win over Buffalo on Saturday, the Oilers are in a position to leapfrog Vegas for first in the Pacific Division with a win over Seattle. The Kraken beat Pittsburgh 4-1 on Saturday, but their playoff hopes are quickly evaporating as they sit two games below .500 and eight points back of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

Edmonton is a heavy -300 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with the total pegged at 6.0.

Kraken vs. Oilers NHL Betting Odds

This has been all Oilers in head-to-head action. Edmonton has won seven straight games against Seattle and nine of the last 10. This is the second meeting between the teams this season, with the Oilers winning 4-2 in Seattle on Jan. 4. The teams play two more games against each other in late March.

These teams have had very different luck in recent action against their own conference. The Kraken have lost nine of their last 12 games against Western Conference opponents, while Edmonton has won eight of their last nine against the West.

Watch out when it comes to taking the Oilers as a cover option, however, as they are just 19-30 against the spread this season, the second-worst mark in the NHL. Seattle is 26-24 ATS, covering in half of their 24 road games.

The Kraken have split the Over/Under almost evenly, while Edmonton has played the Under in a majority of their games this season. In head-to-head action, the Under has played in three straight games between the teams.

Seattle Kraken

Matty Beniers, Vince Dunn, Eeli Tolvanen and Oliver Bjorkstrand all found the back of the net in Saturday’s win over Pittsburgh, while Joey Daccord turned aside 28 of 29 shots faced in net. Jared McCann and Chandler Stephenson each finished the night with two helpers. Seattle has scored more by committee this season as McCann leads the team in scoring with just 38 points (14G, 24A) in 50 games despite the Kraken sitting around the middle-of-the-pack in the NHL in average goals per game (2.92).

Daccord is expected to get the start again on Monday. The 28-year-old is posting career-best numbers this season with a 17-11-2 record, 2.43 goals-against average and .917 save percentage. Daccord has seen a heavy workload lately, starting six straight games for the Kraken and appearing in nine straight.

Edmonton Oilers

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored twice for Edmonton on Saturday and Jeff Skinner notched one goal. Stuart Skinner was beat twice on 49 shots as the Oilers picked up their 10th win in their last 13 games. It was a rare night in which the two-headed monster of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl didn’t end up on the scoresheet. McDavid was serving the final of a three-game suspension, while Draisaitl finished with three shots but no points. Draisaitl is currently second in league scoring with 74 points and he leads the league with 35 goals.

Skinner will likely get the nod against Seattle. The 26-year-old hasn’t been one of the stronger starters in the league this season, going 19-11-3 with a 2.69 GAA and .902 SV. Skinner has looked better in recent action, however, as he is 6-3-0 with a .922 SV in his last nine starts.
