The Jets are in the middle of a three game road trip and will conclude it with back to back games starting Tuesday in Carolina (Wednesday in Columbus). The Jets is just 4-5-1 in their last 10 games.

Jets vs. Hurricanes Betting Analysis

This will be the second and final regular season matchup of the season for these two teams. Back on December 17 the Hurricanes waxed the Jets 6-3 in Winnipeg. Sebastian Aho had a pair of goals and an assist that night, while Jordan Staal collected two goals and Dougie Hamilton had three assists in the win. The team received some bad news about Hamilton late last week as the all-star defenceman will be out indefinitely with a broken left leg.

The Jets have had some decent success in Carolina as of late going 7-2 in the last nine games. Overall, the team is 4-1 against the Hurricanes in the last five games.

Of note, the under is a respectable 9-4 in the last 13 games played between these two teams.

Winnipeg Jets

After back to back losses to the Lightning and Blackhawks this weekend, there are more questions than answers in the Winnipeg dressing room. In those games the Jets were pumped allowing 12 goals against. It came as no surprise when the players held a players only meeting after their last loss in Chicago Sunday night.

In both games played, the team recorded slow starts allowing multiple goals against in the first period.

The team held a 10-point lead over the Hawks one month ago, now the two teams are tied with 54 points each.

Head Coach Paul Maurice switched top line centers prior the game as Blake Wheeler moved up to play with Patrik Laine and Kyle Connor; while Mark Scheifele moved down to the second line to play alongside Nikolaj Ehlers and Andrew Copp.

Of note, the team lost centre Adam Lowry in the game against the Blackhawks. He will be out of the lineup for at least a month. Expect Andrew Copp to centre the team’s third line against Carolina.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes were more than happy to snap a three-game losing streak with a 2-1shootout win over the Islanders on Sunday night.

Prior to the victory the team was on a bit of a slide, losing three in a row, and only scoring three goals total in the trio of games. Included in the group of losses was a 2-0 shutout at the hands of rookie goaltender Ilya Samsonov and the Washington Capitals.

Sunday evening was a special night for the franchise as they welcomed back former Captain Justin Williams. It was the first time Williams as played in the NHL since helping the team get to the Eastern Conference finals last season. Williams was also a major part of the 2006 Hurricanes squad that won the Stanley Cup.

Goaltender James Reimer has played the last two games for Carolina, so expect Petr Mrazek to get the start versus the Jets. Mrazek has made seven career starts against the Jets and is 5-2 lifetime.
