Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets (9-6-0) came out of the gates flying this season, but have been on a bit of a cold streak of late. They have lost three straight games in regulation, scoring just two goals. These losses have come against beatable teams like the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings, and they will be looking to stop the bleeding against Vancouver.
It is the fourth road game of a six-game road trip, and while an early road trip can do wonders for team chemistry, it has not translated to the ice. They’ve played the least amount of games in the Central Division, but have quickly fallen out of favour.
They are relatively healthy, with depth forwards Morgan Barron and Gustav Nyquist out from the lineup. They should be primed and ready to take it to the Canucks in an effort to break their losing skid.
Vancouver Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks (8-8-1) come into this matchup with major inconsistency, as they have not earned two straight wins (or losses) since October 23rd. It is hard to know what to expect from this team, and you can bet they are desperately searching for this consistency.
The status of starting goaltender Thatcher Demko remains in question, as he hasn’t played since November 3rd and remains day-to-day. His health was a major concern heading into the season, and it looks to have already made its way into this campaign.
While they are on home ice and are extremely hungry for a win, will it be enough to take down a tough Jets team that is also desperate?

I see this game being extremely close. There are no major injuries on each side, meaning the elite talents on both rosters will be on full display. However, I think Winnipeg plays a more complete game and can exploit Vancouver’s sloppiness. In a bounce-back effort, I expect the Jets to win 3-1 for our Jets vs. Canucks prediction.
