Winnipeg Jets vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction, NHL Odds
Winnipeg finally did it. It took a while and there was a period during which it looked as though they might make a hash of things, but the Jets are a playoff team. So too are the Avalanche, although that’s been settled for a while already. This is Colorado’s next-to-last match and the curtain closer for the Manitoban outfit.

Jets vs. Avalanche NHL Betting Odds
The 82nd game of the regular season for Winnipeg finally sees them conclude their quartet of bouts with the defending champions. It’s an opportunity to claim the season series 3-1, just as Colorado could level it at 2-2. Winning teams have scored quite a few goals, what with final scores of 4-3 to the Jets, 5-0 to the Jets, and 5-1 to the Avalanche.
Rick Bowness’ club comes into this contest on the wings of an impressive win Tuesday night in Minnesota. The result improved their record in the last 10 games to 7-3, which is exactly what one wants to see of a squad prepping for the intensity of postseason hockey. Scoring hasn’t been high in Jets games recently, given that the under has cashed in eight of the side’s previous 12 contests.
It’s quite the oppositive with Colorado, who have engaged in contests that saw the over connect in seven of their previous nine dates. Despite falling at home to the Oilers on Tuesday evening, the champs are a shiny 8-1-1 in their last 10 games, so just like Thursday night’s opposition, they’re heading into the 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs hungry and looking good.
Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets are to be commended for their performance on Tuesday evening against the Wild. The latter wasn’t exactly in a position to rest on its laurels They had a Central Division crown to chase.
True to the spirit of their recent performances, the Jets played sound and efficient hockey. What made the win against a strong Minnesota team even more impressive was that it came 24 hours after a home win against the Sharks. Both Adam Lowry (13th) and Mark Scheifele (42nd) scored similar goals in the first period insofar as they involved deflected shots that changed direction – thus fooling Marc-André Fleury – and gave each player relatively open nets to slot the puck into. There was no scoring in the middle period, but the hosts piled on the pressure in the final 20 minutes, which was when Connor Hellebuyck stood tall as he so often has this season. Make the final 3-1 to the Jets, playoff birth included.
Colorado Avalanche
While the result of Tuesday night’s game wasn’t going to change either clubs’ fate that much – notwithstanding the chase for or defence of division leads – there was no secret that it offered a potential playoff preview.
To that effect, Edmonton and Colorado’s dance was rather intriguing. The Oilers are the top-scoring team in the NHL (a blistering 3.95 goals per tilt) and Colorado is no slouch at 3.33. Yet it was a goaltending duel that fans enjoyed in Denver. Stuart Skinner, who has turned his play around from what it was a couple of months ago, was excellent in net, as was Alexandar Georgiev, who faced a barrage of 40 shots in total. Funnily enough, the only two goals scored in regulation (Ben Myers’ fourth and Mattias Ekholm’s ninth) came in the opening six minutes. From that point on it was an impeccable display by two goalies who could be x-factors in the playoffs if they keep it up. Ultimately, Evan Bouchard (seventh) wristed home a shot in the always dangerous overtime power play to give Edmonton a 2-1 win.
