Hurricanes vs. Golden Knights Game 4 Prediction, Stanley Cup Final Odds
However, the Canes are very short favourites on the NHL odds with a total of 5.5 goals.
Hurricanes vs. Golden Knights Stanley Cup Final Betting Odds
Some around the NHL were down on this 2026 Stanley Cup Final matchup because it’s between two U.S. sunbelt cities not really known as hockey hotbeds in Raleigh, N.C., and Las Vegas. But through three games with the Golden Knights leading 2-1, it has been one of the most memorable opening three games of a Final in many years.
Every game in the series has had at least seven goals scored, has been decided by a goal and has had a tying goal in the final 10 minutes of regulation – that’s a first in Stanley Cup Final history. The 25 goals scored so far are the fifth-highest total through three games of the Final ever. The record is 30 in 1981 between the Islanders and North Stars. Finally, it’s the fourth Cup Final in history where any team erased a multi-goal deficit three times in the series and first where it happened in each of the first three.
On the updated series line, Vegas is -185 and Carolina +150. At -1.5 on the series spread, the Knights are +100 and Hurricanes are -120 at +1.5. That it lasts six games is the +140 leader, ahead of seven (+145) and five (+310). Knights in six is the +275 favourite and that’s my updated choice.
Carolina Hurricanes
The big question entering Game 4 for coach Rod Brind’Amour will be his starting goaltender. Former Maple Leaf and veteran Frederik Andersen has started every game in these playoffs after a very mediocre regular season where he was the No. 2. The Dane was fabulous in the first three rounds but was pulled after allowing four goals on 18 shots through two periods in Carolina’s wild 5-4 double OT loss in Game 3 on Saturday. Rookie Brandon Bussi was terrific this regular season as the No. 1 guy and saw his first career playoff action in relief Saturday. The 27-year-old goaltender stopped the first 18 shots he faced, including a penalty try late in the third, before Shea Theodore’s shot from the right point caromed off the end boards and banked into the net off the back of his left pad in double OT. Brind’Amour initially sounded as if he would stick with Andersen but then said that a decision would come after practice Monday. Whatever happens, Carolina – which had been 6-0 in these playoffs on the road and in all OT games, needs to focus better in the second period as it has been outscored by Vegas 7-1 in it. Teams that trail 2-1 in a best-of-7 Stanley Cup Final have an all-time record of 27-30 in Game 4 and 9-8 on the road.
Vegas Golden Knights
How big would it be for Vegas to get a win Tuesday? Teams to take a 3-1 lead in a best-of-7 Stanley Cup Final have an all-time series record of 38-1. The 1942 Maple Leafs were the only club to rally. Vegas holds a 2-1 series lead for the 11th time in team history and won eight of the previous 10 series. It would have been understandable for the Golden Knights to be flat at the start of overtime on Saturday after shockingly blowing a 4-0 third-period lead, but Carter Hart locked it down in the extra periods, and Shea Theodore became the seventh defenceman in NHL history with multiple overtime goals in a single postseason. Former Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner had the fastest hat trick in Final history at just 6:19 of ice time in Game 3 (in the second period) and also had an assist. He leads the playoffs with 28 points and is the heavy -230 favourite to win the Conn Smythe Trophy. Vegas is now 21-5-1 since John Tortorella took over as head coach.
