Vegas Golden Knights vs. Vancouver Canucks Prediction, NHL Odds

The Golden Knights opened their current three-game road trip with a 7-4 loss in Arizona on Friday night, but maintain a five-point lead in their race for the final Western Conference wild card spot with the St. Louis Blues, who have just four games remaining on their regular season schedule.

The Canucks are coming off a 6-3 defeat in Los Angeles on Saturday night and have now lost four of their past six outings. However, Vancouver remains perched atop the Pacific Division standings and are just two wins shy of clinching their first divisional title since 2013.

Losers of two of three at home, the Canucks hit the ice as slim -125 home favourites on the Monday NHL odds. The Golden Knights trail as +05 underdogs while the total is listed at 6.0.

Golden Knights vs. Canucks NHL Betting Odds

The Golden Knights have held a clear edge in recent dates with the Canucks, winning four of six matchups since the beginning of last season including all three meetings in Vancouver over that stretch. After producing uneven results on the road throughout February and into march, the Golden Knights have settled down, winning four of their past seven away from T-Mobile Arena. And apart from their defensive letdown in Friday’s lopsided loss to the Coyotes, the club has tightened things up, allowing two or fewer goals five times while winning six of their past eight overall.

The Canucks have experienced a bit of a letdown since locking up a playoff spot,  potting just 2.33 goals per game during their current 2-4-0 slide and going winless in their past three at home when sporting odds of -130 or longer.

Vegas Golden Knights

With the Golden Knights trailing Nashville by just two points in the race for the top wild card in the West, Monday’s contest at Rogers Arena could very well serve as a previous of a first-round playoff matchup for these two clubs. And with the Golden Knights yet to secure a playoff berth, sports bettors should expect this team to be sufficiently motivated. That is particularly true considering their embarrassing performance in Arizona, where they squandered a 4-1 lead while surrendering six third-period goals to the Coyotes in Friday’s loss. Jack Eichel scored once on Friday and has compiled seven markers over his past 10 games. Leading scorer Jonathan Marchessault was held off the scoresheet on Friday, but scored once and added two helpers in last week’s 6-3 rout of the Canucks on home ice.

Vancouver Canucks

Casey DeSmith has shouldered a heavy workload between the pipes while Thatcher Demko has been sidelined, but with mixed results. DeSmith has taken the loss in each of his past four starts and was lit up for 12 total goals while compiling a dismal .797 save percentage in those contests. JT Miller has remained productive, potting two goals, and adding six helpers during a seven-game point streak. Quinn Hughes was held pointless in Saturday’s loss ending a run of two straight two-point outings including a two-goal performance in last week’s loss in Vegas.
