Philadelphia Flyers vs. Montreal Canadiens Prediction, NHL Odds
The two bottom clubs in the Eastern Conference clash Thursday when the Philadelphia Flyers make one last stop to Quebec to play the Montreal Canadiens. On top of being 15th and 16th place, each team heads into Thursday on a six-game losing streak. So in a glass half full outlook, someone’s getting back in the win column as their respective seasons wind down.
Both clubs have five games remaining this season, this being Philadelphia’s third-last away game and Montreal’s third-last home game. Puck drop at Bell Centre is set for 7 p.m. EDT with Montreal a -135 favourite to win and the over-under set at six on the NHL odds.
Flyers vs. Canadiens NHL Betting Odds
Thursday’s the third and final meeting between the Flyers and Canadiens this season with both prior games ending in Montreal wins that went past the 60 minute mark. Cole Caufield was the hero in Montreal’s last contest with Philadelphia, scoring an overtime winner on March 13.
On the season, Philadelphia has 10 road wins and Montreal 10 home wins. These teams are nearly identical when it comes to their offensive struggles too: Philadelphia’s 30th in the NHL with 2.56 goals per outing and Montreal’s right behind with 2.52.

Philadelphia Flyers
Philadelphia’s headed East after falling at Toronto 5-2 on Tuesday. The Flyers outshot the Leafs 39-29 but fell behind in the second and don’t possess the offensive finish to generate comebacks against superior teams. James van Riemsdyk and Ronnie Attard scored in the loss while Travis Konecny assisted on each goal.
Van Riemsdyk’s 21 goals rank second on the Flyers while Konecny is now one point behind Cam Atkinson for the team lead of 50 points. In net, starter Carter Hart is likely done for the season with a leg injury so now it’s Martin Jones’ crease. Jones has an .897 save percentage in 32 appearances this season.
Montreal Canadiens
Carey Price has now started two games for Montreal in the 2021–22 season, and the Habs have yet to score a single goal in his starts. After getting shut out last Friday against New York, Montreal suffered the same fate Tuesday in a 2-0 loss to Minnesota. Thursday’s ending a four-game homestand for Montreal in which they are winless in losses by a combined 13-4 score.
Price made 28 saves in a losing effort Tuesday and should get the nod again versus Philadelphia. Thursday’s also the last of a two-game suspension for forward Michael Pezzetta for an illegal check to the head against Washington. Pezzetta only has eight points in 47 games this season.
