Calgary Flames vs. Boston Bruins Prediction, NHL Odds

Calgary got off to an awful start, but the Flames have really turned things around since mid-November. Meanwhile, Boston got off to a great start and has cooled down since mid-November. Despite different routes, both teams are mathematically alive if they can string together wins in the second half of the NHL season.

This will be the second road game in as many nights for the Flames as part of a tough five-game road trip. For the Bruins, this game represents the first of a five-game homestand. Home-road splits have not been great to either team lately, and they will each need every advantage they can get.

Flames vs. Bruins NHL Betting Odds

The Bruins are the moneyline and puckline favourite at -145 and +165 to cover -1.5 respectively on the NHL odds. The game total, set at 6.0, is -110 for both the over and under. It would’ve sounded crazy a month ago, but there is not much separating these teams right now.

The Flames have dropped three straight but are 5-5 in their last 10. Among those wins includes a 2-1 overtime win over the Bruins. The Bruins have won two out of their last three but just three out of their last 11. Moreover, Calgary has struggled on the road, and Boston has struggled at home. This needs to be a get-right game for one of these teams.

Calgary Flames

The Flames have been snake bitten in the young calendar year. In their three games played in 2026, they’ve scored just five total goals. In Calgary’s last two losses, they were outscored a combined 9-2. When they beat the Bruins last week, they didn’t need more than two goals. It could be a different story tonight.

The Flames have players that have historically produced offensively. Even at times this season, there have been flashes of strong production helping lead Calgary’s turnaround, but it has not been there lately. In their last five games, Calgary’s leading scorers are Blake Coleman with two goals, and defenceman MacKenzie Weegar with four points. Calgary needs to find a way to produce tonight.

Boston Bruins

Conversely to the Flames, the Bruins have improved their goal production. When Boston lost to Calgary, that was the Bruins’ fourth consecutive game scoring two or fewer goals. Since that loss, they have won two out of three and scored 13 goals for an average of 4.33 goals scored per game.

The Bruins rank 12th in the NHL in goals scored per game, and they also have the fourth best power play. Unsurprisingly, the production is led by David Pastrnak. Pastrnak has five goals and eight points in Boston’s last five games as part of 19 goals and 48 points in 38 games played. He and the Bruins’ forwards may be licking their chops for this one.

NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Flames vs. Bruins?

It’s a smaller sample size, but the Bruins’ play in the last week gives them appeal over the Flames. Boston will also be at home after a five-game road trip, and has an extra day of rest as Calgary is playing the second of road back-to-backs.

While Boston has not been stellar at home lately, getting back to the friendly confines could be what the team needed. Prior to their last homestand, the Bruins were 11-5-0 at home before hitting a little slump. They now have points in three out of their last four, wins in two out of their last three, and will look to pounce on a tired Flames team at home. This one sets up for a 4-2 Bruins win.
