The Oilers return home after snapping a five-game losing streak with a 3-1 win in Carolina on Saturday, which also marks the club’s only win in regulation over their past 10 games. The Ducks have extended their recent streaky ways with losses in three of their past four contests but have picked up at least a point in six of their past 10 road dates.

The Oilers hit the ice for Thursday’s NHL betting matchup perched as big -275 favourites on the NHL odds and are a short -135 NHL puckline bet to claim victory by multiple goals. The Ducks trail as +290 underdogs and the total is pegged at 6.5.

Ducks vs. Oilers NHL Betting Odds

Thursday night’s clash is the third of four regular season meetings between these Pacific Division rivals. These clubs split their first two meetings of the campaign, with the home team emerging victorious in each, capped by Edmonton’s narrow 3-2 victory on January 3. But overall, the Oilers have dominated in head-to-head action, earning the win in 11 of 13 matchups since 2020 including six of their past seven on home ice while averaging 5.57 goals per game.

The Oil have also seen nine of their past 11 victories over the Ducks come by multi-goal margins. However, the Oilers have struggled at both ends of the ice during their current 1-5-0 swoon, surrendering 4.50 goals per game while potting more than three goals just once over that stretch.

After effectively shutting down opposing shooters during a 7-1-0 tear during which they allowed just 2.13 goals per game, the Ducks have reverted to familiar form while giving up four goals per game over s subsequent 1-2-1 run. With an anemic offence that ranks 30th overall in the NHL, the Ducks rely heavily on steady netminding and have a mountain to climb to flip the script on a lengthy losing narrative when visiting Edmonton.

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks’ recent woes continued in Saturday’s 6-3 loss to the lowly Chicago Blackhawks. For the second time in three games, the club surrendered three goals in the third period. Anaheim has also been prone to slow starts while failing to score in the opening frame in four of six outings.

Leo Carlsson has emerged as one of the most productive Ducks shooters since returning from the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Swedish sniper potted two goals in Saturday’s loss to Chicago and piled up four markers and two assists in five games since the end of the tourney.

Troy Terry saw a four-game points streak snapped in Saturday’s defeat but the Ducks leading scorer has recorded assists in three straight road games. Anaheim will be without Robby Fabbri, who remains on the shelf indefinitely with an upper body injury.

Edmonton Oilers

Leon Draisaitl remains the exception to the Oilers’ recent scoring woes. The big German set up a pair of goals in Saturday’s win over the Hurricanes and has now racked up eight goals and five assists during a nine-game points streak. Draisaitl has also picked up six goals and six assists during a seven-game point streak versus Anaheim and offers solid value as a +100 bet on the NHL player props to record multiple points on Tuesday.

Connor McDavid has also swung back into form with helpers in four straight games but the hero of Canada’s recent 4 Nations Face-Off win just once in his past 10 outings.
