New Jersey Devils vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction, NHL Odds
The New Jersey Devils and Chicago Blackhawks meet for a Wednesday night battle in the NHL. This is an enticing intra-conference matchup, featuring Connor Bedard, Jack Hughes, and Jesper Bratt.
The Devils are on a three-game point streak, while the Blackhawks have won three straight games. These teams have very different expectations this season, but both are playing excellent hockey, so we should be in for a tight battle. Here is my Devils vs. Blackhawks preview and prediction.
New Jersey is a -150 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with the total set at 6.0.
Devils vs. Blackhawks NHL Betting Odds
As two teams in separate conferences, the Devils and Blackhawks meet just twice per season. However, New Jersey has absolutely dominated Chicago over several years. They have won six straight meetings in regulation and have an 11-2-1 record in the last 14 games.
ATS (against the spread), the New Jersey Devils are 7-9, and the Chicago Blackhawks are an impressive 13-3. Within game totals for the Over, the Blackhawks are 5-10-1, and the Devils are 8-8-0.
New Jersey Devils
The New Jersey Devils currently sit atop the Metropolitan Division and the Eastern Conference, with a record of 11-4-1 and 23 points. They are a well-oiled machine and look poised to keep this strong play going. They are riding a 2-0-1 run and will look to improve this in this battle.
This is the type of play the Devils have expected over the past few seasons, but injuries and underperformance have really hindered them. Head coach Sheldon Keefe has his team in check, and the proof is shown on the ice. An overtime loss in their most recent game should have them even hungrier in this one.
Even injuries to Connor Brown, Dougie Hamilton, and Brett Pesce haven’t slowed this team down. Chicago is in for a big test.
Chicago Blackhawks
We know the Chicago Blackhawks are in a rebuilding phase, but boy, have they been fun to watch. They have won three straight games, improving to 8-5-3. This has them in a playoff position in the Central Division, but let’s see how long this lasts.
Young phenom Connor Bedard has been absolutely lighting up the league, as he has 25 points in 16 games, which has him tied for third in NHL points. However, key colleague Frank Nazar (undisclosed) will be out due to injury. This will not help in a game where they may already be outmatched.
NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Devils vs. Blackhawks?
While the Chicago Blackhawks are playing great hockey, they are bound to come back to earth, and I believe this game will do that. Even on home ice, they are welcoming in a team that is just far deeper and more talented, and has shown to be one of the NHL’s best.
It will be a great challenge for the young team, but I expect a 4-1 win for New Jersey.
