Arizona Coyotes vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction, NHL Odds

Arizona’s on the second of a back-to-back after an overtime loss at Winnipeg yesterday by a score of 2-1 The loss was Arizona’s fifth straight. Edmonton’s coming off one of the wildest games in the season Saturday where they fell 9-5 at Calgary. The Oilers are now 36-25-5 on the season and in third in the Pacific but a point ahead of Vegas who sits in the final playoff spot.

Puck drop at Rogers Arena goes at 9:30 p.m. EDT with Edmonton -350 on the moneyline and the over-under at 6.5 on the NHL odds.

Coyotes vs. Oilers NHL Betting Odds

Edmonton’s been on a roll on home ice with wins in all six of their last home outings. The Oilers are 20-12 on home ice this season, with the over hitting in 19 of those games. The over is also 6-1 in Edmonton’s last seven games as they remain one of the league’s highest-scoring clubs with 3.39 goals per game. That said, the under has hit seven times in the last 10 Coyotes–Oilers games played in Edmonton.

Monday’s the final of three regular season meetings between these clubs. Edmonton took the first two, scoring five goals in each win.

Arizona Coyotes

Sunday’s loss kept the Coyotes at the bottom of the NHL with 45 points in 65 games. The Coyotes moved to 11-18-4 on the road this season, which is ironically better than their home record. Nick Ritchie scored Arizona’s lone goal and Karel Vejmelka made 38 saves as the Coyotes continue to average over 35 shots against per contest.

Nick Schmaltz had an assist versus Winnipeg and now has eight goals and 11 assists in the month of March. Schmaltz’s 44 points are only behind Clayton Keller (62) for the team lead.

With Vejmelka playing Sunday, expect Josef Korenar to play versus Edmonton Monday and get his 11th-career NHL start. Korenar has a career .899 save percentage.

Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton was on the wrong end of a 14-goal battle of Alberta in Saturday, also spoiling an outing where Leon Draisaitl recorded his sixth career hat trick and 600th NHL point. Draisaitl’s now at 47 goals and 47 assists on the season, which at the time put him a tie for the league lead in goals and only behind teammate Connor McDavid (97) in points. McDavid had two assists in the loss for his seventh multi-point outing in his last name goals.

Both Oilers goalies appeared on Saturday; Mikko Koskinen made seven saves on 12 shots and Mike Smith 22 saves on 26 shots. Each now has a save percentage under .900 on the season.
