Vancouver Canucks vs. Nashville Predators Prediction, NHL Odds
This is the second of three matchups this season, as the Predators earned a mid-October 2-1 win.
It is early in the season, but these teams leave lots to be desired. The Canucks (6-7-0) have shown flashes of what they could be, but are still struggling to find consistency. As for the Predators (5-6-2), a dark cloud of mediocrity has been over the team since last season. To see how this one may play out, here is our Canucks vs. Predators preview and prediction.
Canucks vs. Predators NHL Betting Odds
On the NHL odds board, both the Canucks and Predators are 6-7 ATS (against the spread). Within the game totals, Vancouver has seen eight Overs, four Unders, and one Push. Nashville, meanwhile, has seen five Overs and eight Unders.
Nashville and Vancouver typically play three times during the regular season. Nashville is currently 1-0-0 in the head-to-head record this season, and they’re 5-5-0 in their last 10 meetings, so these contests have been back and forth.
Vancouver Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks have shown frustrating results so far this season. They currently sit sixth in the Pacific Division, in a year that had lots of hope and excitement. The season is still young, but they must turn it around.
Drama from last season was said to be gone, but their play has not been good. Key guys like captain Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson, and Brock Boeser are all underperforming, posting a combined eight goals in 13 games, as they all average less than one point per game.
A team like the Predators is a perfect opportunity for Vancouver to put together a full effort, but it is up to them to show up.
Nashville Predators
The Nashville Predators have been struggling yet again, and while their team is full of veteran talent like Ryan O’Reilly, Filip Forsberg, and Steven Stamkos, the performance has not been there. Age is really slowing some of these players down, especially Stamkos, who has just one goal and one assist in 13 games.
Their stud defenseman, Roman Josi, remains out with an injury, which has certainly not helped. It would take more than one player to heat up to turn this team around. Soon, they must decide whether to hang on to make this team a winner or to begin tearing it down.
For this matchup, they are on home ice and aren’t playing a dominant team in Vancouver, so they may be able to improve their record and earn their second-straight win.
NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Canucks vs. Predators?
Even though both teams have been highly inconsistent, I think Vancouver has a better roster. Nashville has had a long list of extremely underperforming players, and I think they are a long way away from flipping the script. Therefore, I expect the urgent Canucks will take this road win by a score of 4-2.
