Canucks vs. Predators Game 4 Prediction, Stanley Cup Playoff Odds

The Vancouver Canucks again are without No. 1 goalie Thatcher Demko on Sunday as they visit the Nashville Predators in Game 4 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series.

Canucks vs. Predators NHL Playoff Betting Odds

Vancouver is 3-0 in Nashville this season after winning Game 3 on Friday, 2-1, playing without No. 1 goaltender Thatcher Demko. He injured his knee late in the Game 1 win and considered week-to-week. Some reports say he won’t get back until at least the Western Conference Finals if the Canucks get there.

“Your season isn’t over,” Coach Rick Tocchet told Demko after the news. “We’re going to need you, because we’re still going to be playing when you’re ready again.”

On the updated series line, the Canucks are -250 (were -105 entering Game 3) with the Predators +200 (were -115). On the favoured exact result prop, Vancouver in five is the +280 favourite and Nashville in six is the +575 longshot.

On the series total games prop, seven is the +150 favourite with the over-under at 6.5 games. The Under is the -175 favourite there.

Vancouver Canucks

No. 2 goalie Casey DeSmith was tremendous in the 2-1 victory in Game 3 with 29 saves in his first-ever postseason victory but wasn’t one of the game’s three stars rather puzzlingly. J.T. Miller was the No. 1 with a goal and assist, and Brock Boeser was the No. 2 with a goal. Both Vancouver goals came on the power play. Miller became the first player on Vancouver’s active roster with 10 career playoff goals. Blueliner Quinn Hughes had two assists and became the third player in Canucks history with 20 points through his first 20 career playoff games, joining Trevor Linden (21) and Thomas Gradin (21). Hughes also became the seventh defenceman in NHL history with at least 20 points through his first 20 playoff games. The Canucks were outshot 30-12 and dominated in the faceoff circle, winning just 36.7 per cent of them. The under is 4-2 in Vancouver’s past six.

Nashville Predators

Nashville lost defenceman Spencer Stastney to an injury in the Game 3 loss, and he’s week-to-week. He doesn’t have a point in the series with one blocked shot and one shot on goal. Either Tyson Barrie or Dante Fabbro is expected to replace him in the lineup. Luka Evangelista had the lone goal in Game 3, coming at 16:48 of the third to make things interesting. The Predators have never recorded a multi-goal comeback win in the final five minutes of a playoff game. Juuse Saros allowed two goals on just 12 shots in the loss. Today will be former Norris Trophy winner Roman Josi’s 89th playoff game of his career, tying former goaltender Pekka Rinne for the most in franchise history. The Preds are 9-4 in their past 13 at home.
