Canucks vs. Predators Prediction: NHL Betting Odds
The Predators are gunning for the top spot in the Central division and hope a visit from the Canucks on Thursday night will bring them closer to that goal. At the time of this writing, 70 percent of Sports Interaction bettors are backing the Predators.
Canucks vs Predators Betting Analysis
It’s been a closely fought battle between these two clubs this season. In December they played each other twice in less than two weeks, with the Canucks taking the first of two at home 5-3, and then losing in OT to the Preds in Nashville to the tune of 4-3. Those games saw action from Bo Horvat, Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson – all of whom are the fundamental blocks in the Vancouver rebuild.
The Canucks don’t have the greatest win record in Nashville of late (neither does anyone else) going just 1-4 in their last 5 games in the Predator’s arena. After this game, Vancouver will finish it’s season with a visit to the St. Louis Blues this weekend. The Predators follow this one up in Edmonton where they face the struggling Oilers.
Vancouver Canucks
Although the Canucks will miss the postseason for the fourth year in a row, the mood in the Rainy City isn’t all doom and gloom. Not only is Vancouver is coming off consecutive wins over the Kings, the Stars and the Sharks, they are looking like a team preparing to be great again.
Tanner Pearson, who was acquired from the Penguins at the trade deadline, has nine points for the Canucks since then, with five of those goals in his last seven games. Speaking to the press, Pearson talked about finishing the season on a high note, saying “Especially playing these playoff teams, teams that are saddling up to go to the playoffs, they’re playing their best hockey or want to anyway. And if we can withstand that and beat some teams, it could carry some momentum into next year.”
Nashville Predators
The Predators have secured a playoff berth, but tonight’s game against Vancouver is a hugely important one for this team to win. Nashville is in a very close three-way fight with the Blues and the Jets for first place in the Central Division and more importantly, for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
Nashville is 23-14-1 at home this season and are doing very well in the dying days of the regular season, going 6-3-1 in their past 10 games, most recently a 3-2 win over Buffalo on Tuesday.
