Vancouver Canucks vs. Vegas Golden Knights Prediction, NHL Odds
That is not surprising in the case of Vancouver, which has been a mess this year, but it is surprising for the Golden Knights.
Vegas has been impressively consistent since entering the league, both in the regular season and playoffs, but they have battled a couple of bouts of inconsistency this year, though. This is an important get-right spot for Vegas, and they should come out battling for this win.
Canucks vs. Golden Knights NHL Betting Odds
Despite a current five-game skid and losses in seven out of their last eight, the Golden Knights are a heavy favourite on the money line with odds of -295. They are also -118 to cover the -1.5 puck line. The Canucks are +230 outright and -102 to cover +1.5 goals.
A high game total is in the cards, as the Over 6.0 carries -130 odds, and the Under has a +105 price. Vancouver has just two wins in their last 18 games, has lost seven straight on the road, and has dropped five out of its previous six against Vegas. The Over has hit in five out of Vegas’ last seven games and is 7-3 in their latest 10. None of the lines are very surprising in this one.
Vancouver Canucks
The Olympic break couldn’t come sooner for the Canucks and their fans. It has been tough sledding this year, and it only got worse when they traded Quinn Hughes and Kiefer Sherwood. Vancouver snapped a brutal 11-game losing streak, but is back in the dog house, going 1-4-1 since.
There is just nothing going for this team. They were already a shallow roster, but have also dealing with an injury bug, further hampering their depth. Seven key players, two of whom they received in the Hughes trade, are shelved with injuries. This game is a big uphill battle for the Canucks.
Vegas Golden Knights
This is the first of three matchups the Golden Knights have against the Canucks between now and the end of the season. That makes six very important points Vegas has a good chance to collect with several division opponents nipping at their heels.
Vegas mathematically sits atop the Pacific division, but they are tied in points with Edmonton. Just behind them are Anaheim with 63 points, Seattle with 61, and Los Angeles with 60. This team is experienced enough to know that any team can win on any given night. While Vegas is far and away the better team in this game, they will not play complacent. These are two points, and Vegas will play as such.
NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Canucks vs. Golden Knights?
Unless the Golden Knights come out completely flat, they should take care of business in this game, as there is too much going against the Canucks. Vancouver is vulnerable, and several opponents have exposed that vulnerability, and an unfortunate injury bug is just the latest in their messy two-year saga.
The Golden Knights being the deeper, better team is only amplified by the chip they have on their shoulder. In addition to the aforementioned Pacific contenders, San Jose and Nashville are not out of it by any means. If Vegas gets squeezed into a wild-card spot, the competition only grows. This team will come out with added urgency to beat a weaker team by a convincing 5-2 final.
