Canadiens vs. Panthers NHL Betting Odds
Just five days ago, Florida beat the Canadiens 4-3 in Montreal, to take a 2-0 season series lead. Claude Giroux picked up a pair of assists in his Panthers debut and Sam Reinhart scored the game winner. Jake Allen was in net for Montreal, stopping 38 of 42 shots to keep his Canadiens in the game. The season series will come to end on April 29th in Montreal.
It is typically high-scoring hockey when these squads meet up, with the Over going 7-3 in the past 10 head-to-heads. The Panthers won six of those 10 games. Tuesday’s betting action is seeing 81 per cent of Sports Interaction customers both siding with Florida and taking the Over.
The Canadiens are currently riding a 6-0 streak against the spread, bringing their record up to 34-32 on the year. The Habs are 3-3-4 in their past ten games, a stretch that split the Over/Under 5-5.
The Panthers have only covered once in their past seven contests but are still 34-31 ATS on the year. As the highest-scoring team in the league, it is no surprise they have a lopsided 38-23 record on the Over/Under.
Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens were down 2-0 to the New Jersey Devils in the second period before Josh Anderson scored to cut the lead to one. Then, with only 42 seconds left in regulation, Rem Pitlick scored to tie it and send the game to overtime. The night eventually went to a high-scoring shootout, where Montreal was outgunned 4-3 and lost the game 3-2.
Cole Caufield, Chris Wideman and Christian Dvorak all picked up an assist in the game, extending their point streaks to three games each.
Montreal will continue its four-game road trip with a stop in Carolina Thursday night.
Florida Panthers
The Panthers had their three-game win streak snapped Sunday night in Toronto, in a 5-2 loss to the Maple Leafs. Brandon Montour and Ryan Lomberg scored for Florida, while Johnathan Huberdeau picked up an assist to extend his point streak to four games.
The Leafs’ power play was too much for Florida, as they went 0-2 on the PK. Panthers goalie Spencer Knight allowed four goals on 24 shots, snapping his two-game win streak.
Huberdeau is third in league in scoring with 90 points (21G, 69A), eight behind Connor McDavid for the league lead.
