2026 CFL Betting Odds and Week 14 Power Rankings: Blue Bombers’ stock rises, Argonauts fall

As we head towards Labour Day Weekend in the CFL, the power rankings remain relatively unchanged.

The West Division earned bragging rights last week, sweeping all four games against the East. Those results have seen only two teams swap places in the power rankings, with the Blue Bombers moving to No. 5 and the Argonauts dropping to No. 7.

Let’s get back into it with our Week 14 power rankings.

1. Montreal Alouettes (1)

Record: 9-2

Week 13 result: L 44-28 @ WPG

Week 14 opponent: vs. BC

Grey Cup odds: +180

After running through the rest of the CFL for the first few months of the season, the Alouettes fell flat in the second half of their trip to Winnipeg last week. However, one game isn’t enough to make anyone forget how dominant this team is.

The main concern I have going forward is the health of quarterback Davis Alexander (lower-body), who leads the league in both passing yards (3,657) and passing TDs (24). Alexander has been limited at practice, but says he’s good to go this week. I’m more concerned about his health long-term considering he was limited to just eight games played last year.

2. Edmonton Elks (2)

Record: 8-3

Week 13 result: Bye

Week 14 opponent: @ CGY

Grey Cup odds: +400

The Elks, who have won back-to-back homes games over Toronto and Winnipeg, should be well-rested after a bye week. There’s a lot to like about Edmonton right now. Quarterback Cody Fajardo is on pace to set new career-highs across the board and Justin Rankin is within reach of hitting 1,000 yards both rushing and receiving.

The defence has also done its part, ranking top-three in points allowed (26.8) and rushing yards allowed (89.7) per game as well as passing yards allowed per attempt (8.4).

Sweeping the upcoming home-and-home against the Stampeders over the next couple of weeks will go a long way to Edmonton winning the West Division for the first time since 2015.

3. B.C. Lions (3)

Record: 6-5

Week 13 result: W 45-24 @ OTT

Week 14 opponent: @ MTL

Grey Cup odds: +650

Nathan Rourke didn’t help matters with two early interceptions against Ottawa in Week 13, but the Lions’ offence eventually settled in and produced 14 points in each of the last three quarters. Zander Horvath was the standout performer as he rushed for 164 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. The team also looked good on the defensive side of the ball, registering four takeaways and three sacks.

B.C. has now won five straight games to sit above .500 for the first time this season. The Lions are within striking distance of overtaking Saskatchewan for second in the West and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they could win the division if they stay hot.

4. Saskatchewan Roughriders (4)

Record: 7-4

Week 13 result: W 28-24 vs. TOR

Week 14 opponent: vs. WPG

Grey Cup odds: +525

It was a “burn-the-tape” kind of game for the Riders last week against Toronto, but the important thing is they stopped a mini two-game slide. After combining for just two passing TDs and four interceptions in those two losses, Trevor Harris was better in Week 13, finishing with 313 passing yards while connecting once each in the end zone with KeeSean Johnson and Dhel Duncan Busby.

The win wasn’t anything to write home about, but it keeps Saskatchewan at second in the West Division and within striking distance of Edmonton for first.

5. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7)

Record: 6-5

Week 13 result: W 44-28 vs. MTL

Week 14 opponent: @ SSK

Grey Cup odds: +1700

Winnipeg is the only team that rose in this week’s power rankings and it’s for good reason. The Blue Bombers, who entered Week 13 with serious questions on whether they were still a legit threat in the West, went into a tough road environment and spanked the CFL’s best team.

It was a truly elite offensive performance, with Winnipeg producing 44 points, 447 net yards and 32 first downs. Brady Oliveira led the game with 106 rushing yards, the fourth time in his last five outings he has cracked the century mark.

My main concern with the Bombers is their surprising losing records at home (3-4) and within the division (1-4). Those trends are just not sustainable to stay competitive over a full season.

6. Calgary Stampeders (6)

Record: 5-6

Week 13 result: W 28-23 vs. HAM

Week 14 opponent: vs. EDM

Grey Cup odds: +800

Give the Stampeders their props for last week’s win over Hamilton as it came with quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. (head injury) on the sidelines. Josh Love got the job done for Calgary, throwing for 274 yards, one touchdown and one interception in his first career start.

There’s been no update on Adams’ status for this week. But, whether the Calgary pivot plays or not, you can be sure the team will rely heavily on running back Dedrick Mills, who rushed for 118 yards last week, including the game-winning touchdown.

7. Toronto Argonauts (5)

Record: 5-6

Week 13 result: L 28-24 @ SSK

Week 14 opponent: @ HAM

Grey Cup odds: +850

The Argos are the only team that dropped in this week’s power rankings. Chad Kelly looked great in the first half of Toronto’s Week 13 matchup against Saskatchewan, throwing for 295 yards and three TDs. However, Kelly had two interceptions and no TDs over the last two quarters as the Boatmen were outscored 16-2.

But, the game wasn’t all on Kelly’s shoulders. Toronto’s ground attack finished with just 15 rushing yards while the defence was torched by KeeSean Johnson and Dhel Duncan Busby to the tune of 228 combined receiving yards.

The Argonauts have now fallen under .500 as they prepare for a Labour Day matchup against Hamilton that could alter the East Division standings.

8. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8)

Record: 4-8

Week 13 result: L 28-23 @ CGY

Week 14 opponent: vs. TOR

Grey Cup odds: +4000

It was a bitter sting for Hamilton last week as they led for most of the game against Calgary before they gave up a 49-yard rushing touchdown with 29 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Tre Ford was fine, posting 212 passing yards, two TDs and 80 rushing yards, but Hamilton is now 2-6 since Bo Levi Mitchel suffered a broken ankle.

This week’s Labour Day Classic against Toronto could make or break the Tabbies’ playoff hopes.

9. Ottawa RedBlacks (9)

Record: 0-11

Week 13 result: L 45-24 vs. BC

Week 14 opponent: Bye

Do you know that Simpsons meme of the crying child saying “Stop, stop! He’s already dead!” Well, that’s how I feel anytime I see the RedBlacks play. Ottawa is now 0-11 on the year and they’ve dropped 17 straight games since last year, a modern day CFL record.

The schedule-makers have taken pity on the RedBlacks with a bye this week, but I don’t see how any amount of rest is going to help this team find a win in Toronto on Sept. 12.
