Blues vs. Stars Game 4 Prediction: NHL Playoffs Betting Odds

Both of these teams enjoy playing on the road, and it shows this post season. The Blues are undefeated away from St. Louis, while the Stars have a better record outside of Dallas. But, the Lone Star State has to serve Dallas well in game four, or they could be looking at an elimination in game five.

Blues vs Stars Stanley Cup Betting Analysis

The Stars are 7-3 (straight up) in the last ten games against the Blues, but St. Louis has won two of the last three games. The Blues are also 1-4 in their last five games in Dallas.

The home team has had the advantage in this series going 8-5 in the last 13 games. In game two and three, these teams hit the over mark; but the under between these two teams is 5-3-1 last 9 games.

Of note, maybe there’s something about Wednesday nights for the Dallas Stars. The Stars are 5-0 in their last five Wednesday night games.

St. Louis Blues

Maybe the road is the best place to be for the St. Louis Blues. Dating back to their first round series, the Blues are now a perfect 4-0 on the road this playoff season. In fact, the last time St. Louis lost a road game was April 3 in Chicago.

The Blues continue to get timely goals in this post season. It happened in their series against the Jets, and now it happened again in game three; Patrick Maroon’s second of the post season with less than two minutes to go in the third gave the Blues the 4-3 win.

In game three, Head Coach Craig Berube tinkered with his lines moving Jaden Schwartz on a line with Ryan O’Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko, it paid dividends almost immediately (:87 seconds in to the game) as Schwartz scored another goal for the Blues, and has six goals in his last five post season games. He is tied with Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl, and Mark Stone for the post season lead in goals.

Dallas Stars

There are a lot of similarities between this series and the opening round versus Nashville. The Stars lost their first home ice of this series, just like they did in the first round of their opening series against the Predators. So far in four home games, they are 2-2. On the road in five games, they are 3-2. Now, the Stars find themselves in a familiar spot down 2-1 in a series, the same deficient they faced against the Predators.

Through Monday’s game, the Stars had allowed only one power-play goal for 24 chances in the playoffs overall. The kill rate of 95.8 percent could be the best ever for a team that plays in at least two rounds. The Red Wings had a 96 percent kill rate in 2004.

Of note, Alex Radulov scored his fifth of the post season; he is one goal off the post season leaders in the NHL.
