St. Louis Blues vs. Ottawa Senators Prediction, NHL Odds
Blues vs. Senators NHL Betting Odds
The Blues are 6-1 in their last seven games when coming into a tilt with zero days of rest. However, they are just 4-9 in their last 13 games when going up against teams in the Atlantic Division. As for the total, the over is 37-11-5 in their past 53 games against teams from the Eastern Conference.
Flipping over to the Senators, they are 6-1 in their last seven games against a team with a losing record. Unfortunately, they are 21-46 in their last 67 games against teams from the Central Division. Looking at the total, the over has cashed in four of their past five games overall.
St. Louis Blues
St. Louis got a kick in the gut heading into their game against the Avalanche. They found out less than 24 hours before puck drop that the team would be shipping away both Ryan O’Reilly and Noel Acciari to the Toronto Maple Leafs via a trade. The Blues center Brayden Schenn told the media, “It was just a lot of emotion from last night. The trade happened so late.”
This team will have to gather themselves quickly from the large roster shift to avoid falling into a hole. After all, St. Louis also shipped away Vladimir Tarasenko to the New York Rangers recently as well, completely shifting the direction of the organization. They’re now clearly heading for a rebuild and the expectation is that they’ll slip down the standings the rest of the season. The Blues will now lean heavily upon Jordan Kyrou, with him having 54 points on the season to lead the team.
Ottawa Senators
If there’s one thing that you can say about Ottawa, it’s that they love playing extra hockey. They’ve gone into overtime in each of their last three contests. They were able to win two of them with one of those finishing in a shootout. The loss to Chicago was stunning as the Sens had a lot of wind in their sails of late and were a -270 favourite in the game. They’re not favoured as heavily in this one despite having the superior odds, so bettors will have to think twice.
An interesting part about this roster right now is that they are without their top two goalies. Both Cam Talbot and Anton Forsberg are out with injuries, and neither has been available for the last three games. We might see Mads Sogaard or Kevin Mandolese in the net. Sogaard is 1-0-1 with a 3.25 GAA and a .903 save percentage. Mandolese has 1-0-0 with a 1.85 GAA and a .958 save percentage, though it was only one game. We might not know what to expect from either of these guys.
