St. Louis Blues
The Blues came out flying in this game registering the first eight shots on goal but allowed the Jets to inch their way back.
The team’s power-play has been playing well over the last two games going 3-for-7 with the man advantage. That’s a big improvement from the 0-for-7 record it had in Winnipeg for games one and two.
Goaltender Jordan Binnington lost back-to-back games for the first time in his young NHL career. Previous to Wednesday’s loss, he was a perfect 6-0 after suffering a loss in the previous game. He has played well in his first playoff appearance, but overall has been the second best goalie of this series.
Of note, Captain Alex Pietrangelo leads the Blues in playoff scoring with five points (all assists).
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets started off the game with the slowest of starts as they didn’t register a shot on goal for the first 10:58. That changed for the reminder of the game as they scored a big 3-2 overtime win.
The team’s top line was on fire in the two games in St. Louis, as the trio of Mark Schiefele, Blake Wheeler and Kyle Connor combined for four goals and six assists in the pair of games. These three players plus Defenceman Dustin Byfuglien each have five points and lead the team in scoring.
Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck played his best game of the series in game four, and overall his play improve in both games in St. Louis stopping 57-of-61 shots for a save percentage of .934.
