This Saturday night will feature a matchup of the two goaltenders that represented the Central division at this year’s all-Star game. Both Connor Hellebuyck and Jordan Binnington had the night off Friday as their teams battle in the second game of a back to back.

Blues vs. Jets Betting Analysis

The Blues are riding a four-game winning streak against the Jets dating back to last year’s first round of the NHL post season (April 18, 2019). Three of the four games were decided by one goal.

The Blues are an amazing 5-0 in their last five games in Winnipeg and the road team in this series is 6-2 in the last eight games. However, the Blues have been struggling on the road as of late, going 1-6 in their last seven games away from St.Louis.

St. Louis is 7-1 in their last eight games on the second game of a back to back.

Home ice has not been an advantage for the Jets his season. They are 11-12-2 on the season and 1-8 in their last nine games.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues were in Edmonton Friday night and were doubled up by the Oilers 4-2. Central division all-star David Perron (23) and Robert Thomas (9) were the team’s goal scorers in the loss.

Jake Allen got the start in the St. Louis net, he allowed three goals on 34 shots in the loss.

The Blues lead the Central division and Western conference with 70 points.

On Friday the Blues placed Oskar Sundqvist no injury reserve with a lower-body injury, but forward Sammy Blais came off IR to replace him.

Of note, Saturday will be a special night for Blues forward Alex Steen. Not only will the Winnipeg-born forward return home to play in front of family and friends, but it will be game number 1000 for his career.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets skated with the Bruins on Friday night and probably deserved better than a 2-1 loss to the B’s. They controlled most of the game including outshooting Boston 26-10 over the final two periods of the hockey game. Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask was the game’s first star, stopping 37 of 38 opportunities.

Patrik Laine scored his 18th of the season in the loss. It was his third goal in the team’s last four games. He played 22:36, which ranked him third among Jets forwards for the evening. Laine has 128 goals in his career which is second most from the 2016 draft.

Laurent Brossoit got the start, allowing two goals against on 25 shots. Connor Hellebuyck will make his 41st start of the season against the Blues Saturday night.

The team is happy to end the month of January, as they finished the 31 days with a dreadful 3-8-1 record.
