Xavier Worthy Practicing but Questionable for Chiefs vs. Giants on SNF
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy is pushing to get back on the field for Week 3’s Sunday Night Football matchup against the New York Giants.
After suffering a shoulder injury just three plays into the team’s regular season opener, the speedy wideout has logged two limited practice sessions so far this week. However, the 22-year-old is still officially questionable and may end up as a game-time decision.
Sunday Night Football Odds: Chiefs vs. Giants
The NFL odds board has the Chiefs as 6.5-point favourites on the road as both teams are still searching for their first wins of the season.
Worthy’s injury occurred when he collided with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and the club has missed his production from the wideout spot. Hollywood Brown has taken on WR1 duties in the meantime, making 15 catches for 129 yards over two games without reaching the end zone. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has just a pair of passing touchdowns so far this year.
Worthy recorded 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games during the 2024 season and then went off in the playoffs to help get the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl. He ended up with 19 catches for 287 yards and three scores in a trio of post-season games.
