Vikings vs. Bears Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction
Not a whole lot at stake for the home team in the Monday night game to conclude Week 15 as the Minnesota Vikings visit the Chicago Bears. The Vikes opened as 3.5-point favourites to win on the NFL odds with a total of 44 points.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
When the NFL’s new media deal kicks in for the 2023 season, Monday night games from Week 12 on will be allowed to be flexed in/out. This game would have been flexed out for sure if that was the case now, although the Bears always are a good TV draw.
At 4-9, Chicago is playing out the string on what will be the end of the Matt Nagy coaching tenure. He will finish with a losing record for the first time – the Bears were 8-8 the previous two seasons. “Tanking” the rest of the way does no good for the Bears because they don’t own their first-round draft pick in 2022. That goes to the New York Giants via the Justin Fields trade.
Minnesota (6-7) still has a wild-card shot as it sits eighth in the NFC, losing a tiebreaker to fellow 6-7 team Washington but winning current tiebreakers over other 6-7 teams in Philadelphia, Atlanta and New Orleans.
Monday is the first meeting of the season between the Vikings and Bears, and they play again Week 18. Last year, they split with each winning on the road.
Chicago is 6-2 against the spread in the past eight meetings. The under is 6-1 in the previous seven in the Windy City.

Minnesota Vikings
Every Minnesota game but one this season has been decided by one possession (eight points or fewer). It’s like the Vikings can’t help themselves. Last Thursday, they jumped out to a 29-0 third-quarter lead on Pittsburgh only to nearly let the Steelers tie the game on the final play – a TD pass went off the hands of Pat Freiermuth (Pittsburgh would have also had to have converted a two-point try to force OT). Vikings Pro Bowl tailback Dalvin Cook returned from a one-game injury absence and rushed for 205 yards (most in NFL this season) and two scores. Kirk Cousins had two TD passes but two picks. Cook better stay healthy this week because his excellent backup, Alexander Mattison, has landed on the COVID list. The Vikings are 2-9 in their past 11 as favourites.
Chicago Bears
Chicago lost for the seventh time in eight games on Sunday, 45-30 in Green Bay. The Bears played great for the first half – including the first punt-return TD of the season in the NFL, a spectacular 97-yarder from Jakeem Grant — but then were completely dominated in the second. Down 11 in the fourth quarter and the Packers doing what they wanted on offence, Chicago coach Matt Nagy opted not to go for a fourth-and-inches at around his own 40. Naturally, Green Bay went right down the field and scored. Nagy appears to have checked out on the season. Bears rookie QB Justin Fields threw for two scores and rushed for 74 yards but did injure his non-throwing hand. He should be able to play through that. Chicago is 5-2 ATS in its past seven Monday games.
