If you like offense and strong front-seven play, then you should be a big fan of how the Oakland Raiders versus the Tennessee Titans game could shake out in Nashville in Week 1. It’s also a matchup of “on the rise” teams. Not to mention, Tony Romo’s broadcasting debut and Marshawn Lynch’s return! But the best storyline of the afternoon: Marcus Mariota versus Derek Carr — who is better? Both of these teams have playoff aspirations, and both of these teams could clinch their respective divisions. What a way to start.

Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Titans opened as 1 point favourites (-110) on the Sports Interaction NFL odds board. Derek Carr and the Raiders are a perfect 2-0 in their matchups with the Titans over the last two seasons, with both wins coming on the road. Since 1999, the franchises have met 12 times, each of them winning 6 games. Last season, the Raiders were very good on the road, going 6-2 away from Oakland, while the Titans finished strong at Nissan Stadium, with a 4-0 record, and also 4-0 ATS.
With a record of 9-7 last year, it was the franchise’s first winning season in 5 years. And things only appear to be getting better in Music City; a stud quarterback in Marcus Mariota, one of the best offensive lines in all of football, and the running combination of DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry that ranked 3rd overall in team rushing (136.7). Matched up against a Raiders defence that was 23rd against the rush (117.6) and they could have a field day.
The Raiders are coming off their best season in 14 years, going 12-4 last season. Quarterback Derek Carr had an MVP caliber year until breaking his leg just before the playoffs. Carr is back, healthy and ready to go, and he’ll have a new offensive coordinator in Todd Downing to work with. Downing promises to maintain the same level of offence that saw the Raiders be one of the most pass-happy teams in the league. With strong receiving weapons like Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, the Raiders should have a field day against a Titans secondary that finished 30th against the pass (269.2) last season.
