Titans vs. Colts Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 13 Odds
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a tough 20-17 loss against the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football last week, taking their record to 6-5 on the year. After having 10 days in between games, they now have an opportunity to get back in the winning column when the Tennessee Titans visit this week.
The Tennessee Titans had a huge 42-20 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars at home last week and are looking to extend their winning streak to three straight. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has come in and given this team a shot in the arm as they’ve won four of his five starts. If they’re serious about making the playoffs, they have to find a way to win in this spot.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Titans are 6-5 this year, but they are 4-1 in their last five games. They’ve been a solid over bet as the total has gone over in all 5 of those games. However, road games in Indy haven’t been friendly to them in recent times. They are 1-10 in their last 11 games on the road in Indianapolis and 3-13 in their last 16 games against the spread there.
As for the Colts, they are also 6-5 this year, but they are 10-2 straight up in their last 12 games at home. They play really well in this role as they’ve won seven in a row as a home favorite of three or less while going 6-0-1 ATS in those contests.
Tennessee Titans
After a rough start to the season, it seems as though the Tennessee Titans have begun to turn things around. Tannehill has been a gamechanger for them as they’ve won four of his five starts, and he has a solid 111.4 passer rating. Last Sunday, Tannehill went 14-of-18 for 259 yards and two touchdowns while also adding another 40 yards rushing and two more touchdowns on the ground. This offense was listless under Mariota but they’re now a very confident unit. They scored more than 24 points just once while Mariota was the starter (six games); they’ve scored at least 23 every single week Tannehill has started while averaging 29.4.
This is a big week for the Titans because a win could bring them to the top of the division. The Houston Texans currently lead at 7-4 but they’re facing New England this week, so the Titans have a window of opportunity here. They lost 19-17 to the Colts earlier in the year but that was with Mariota under center. Tannehill should be the difference in this game.
Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts have played much better than most would have expected to this point in the season without Andrew Luck at quarterback. However, they’re in a funk right now. They’ve dropped three of four and have a number of injuries piling up. Starting running back Marlon Mack is out as is tight end Eric Ebron. Jonathan Williams has run well recently (26 carries, 104 yards and a touchdown last week) but quarterback Jacoby Brissett is missing key members of his cast. It’s shown too as Brissett has just one touchdown pass in his last four games; he had 10 touchdowns in his first four games this season.
The Colts will try to lean on their ground game, which is ranked third in the NFL with 144.2 rushing yards per game. The Titans sit 13th in run defense, so if the Colts can run the ball and keep the pressure off of Brissett, they could earn the win here.
