Seahawks vs. Titans Point Spread: NFL Week 12 Odds, Prediction
We have a compelling NFL Week 12 matchup on our hands on Sunday, as the Seattle Seahawks head to Tennessee to take on the Titans in Nashville. This game isn’t that appealing on paper, as the two teams are at very different points in their season. Seattle is coming off a difficult two-point loss to the Rams, a game the Seahawks likely would have won if not for committing a whopping five turnovers.
As for Tennessee, the Titans have shown signs of life throughout the season, but this is still one of the worst teams in football, and now, Tennessee is dealing with injuries at multiple key positions heading into this game. With the Titans hoping to pull off the upset and Seattle hoping to bounce back after a disappointing loss, which side will come out on top in this Week 12 clash?
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
This is one of the largest spreads on the card this week, as the Seahawks are 13.5-point favourites on the NFL odds against the Titans. Given the defensive prowess that Seattle has, it’s not a surprise that the total sits at 40.5 in this game.
The Seahawks are 8-2 against the spread this season, while their games are also 6-4 to the Over. On the other side, the Titans are 4-6 against the spread this season, with the Over cashing in six of the 10 Tennessee games.
Seattle Seahawks
At this point in the season, the Seahawks have established themselves as a legitimate contender in what is a pretty wide-open NFC at the moment. Outside of last week’s abysmal performance against a stout Rams defence, Sam Darnold has largely been extremely reliable at the quarterback position, and it certainly helps matters that he’s throwing to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who looks like an All-Pro and one of the best receivers in football.
Where the Seahawks really shine is on defence, as Seattle is one of the top units in the NFL in success rate allowed and EPA per play. Mike Macdonald has shown himself to be a terrific defensive coach, and he should have a field day against a rookie quarterback and a bad Titans offensive line on Sunday.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans are not quite as hapless as they were a season ago, but this is still one of the worst teams in football, especially on offence. Both the traditional and advanced metrics are downright ghastly for Tennessee, and they’ve scored just 60 combined points over the last four weeks. WR Calvin Ridley fractured his fibula last week and will be out for the season, and WR Elic Ayomanor (hamstring) could miss this game too.
Things won’t get any easier for interim head coach Mike McCoy on Sunday, as Cam Ward is going up against a defence that has feasted on bad teams all season long, especially on the road. I don’t see how the Titans offence keeps up, seeing that this is a unit that is dead last in the NFL in EPA per play and success rate.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Seahawks vs. Titans?
This is a perfect get-right spot for a Seattle team that is coming off a brutal loss, and I can’t see the Seahawks taking their foot off the gas in a spot where they should be in the lead from the opening quarter.
All things considered, I am rolling with Seattle to win as significant road favourites in Week 12, and we can expect this to be a pretty convincing victory from the Seahawks in Nashville. Mike Macdonald’s team should win this one without much of a sweat, 27-10.
