Seahawks vs. Falcons Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
The Falcons are coming off a lopsided 38-20 win in Carolina last weekend to improve to 4-2 on the season. Each of their three recent victories come against division rivals, leaving the Falcons knotted with Tampa Bay atop the NFC South. The Seahawks have seen their lead atop the NFC South standings evaporate during a 0-3 run, capped by a rough 36-24 loss to San Fransisco last week on Thursday Night Football. The Seahawks have now been defeated by an average margin of 11.3 points during their current swoon and have also emerged as a massive betting disappointment while going 1-4-1 against the spread do far this season.
The Falcons lead the way as 3-point home favourites on the NFL Week 7 odds. The Seahawks trail as +130 underdogs on the NFL moneyline and the total is pegged at 51.0.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Seahawks return to Dixie for the first time since 2020 looking to tally a third straight road victory over the Falcons. Seattle claimed victory by an average margin of 10 points in those wins, but fell short in a 27-23 loss when the Falcons visited the Pacific Northwest in 2022. Overall, the Seahawks have also regularly rewarded loyal NFL betting fans in recent meetings with Atlanta, going 5-1 against the spread in their past six. The Falcons have also paid out as betting favourites while averaging 37 points per game in their two most recent contests. Conversely, the Falcons have failed to pay out against the spread in four straight road games despite claiming the straight up win three times over that stretch.
Seattle Seahawks
With the competition getting tougher, the Seahawks have quickly wilted after opening the season with victories over lightweights Denver, New England, and Miami. The Seahawks have had no answers to fast starts by opponents during their current swoon and have been outscored by a 47-20 margin before the half in their three recent losses. Not surprisingly, second-half comeback bids have fallen far short, with the Seahawks allowing an average of almost 10 points in the fourth quarter over that stretch. Seattle’s woes finally caught up with Geno Smith in last week’s loss to the 49ers. The Seahawks veteran passer completed a season-low 57.7% of passes while tossing two picks but has still found the end zone once in all six games this season.
Atlanta Falcons
It has not taken long for Kirk Cousins to develop impressive chemistry with his favourite downfield target Drake London. The Falcons’ veteran passer needed a few weeks to get comfortable in his new Atlanta home, but has impressed while connecting on five scoring passes over the past two weeks and has found London in the end zone four times this season. London has also piled up 228 receiving yards over the past two games, and the Falcons’ explosive duo could be poised to put their stats this Sunday against an injury ravaged Seahawks pass defence that has given up eight scoring TDs over the past three games.
