Ravens vs. Buccaneers Point Spread: MNF Week 7 Odds, Prediction
The Ravens opened as 3.5-point favourites on the NFL odds with a total of 48.5.
Monday Night Football Point Spread and Betting Odds
Baltimore-Tampa Bay kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday, and the LA Chargers-Arizona game starts at 9 ET, so a bit different than the first two MNF doubleheaders this year. No doubt that Ravens-Buccaneers looks like the much better game with Baltimore atop the AFC North at 4-2 with Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay co-leading the NFC South with Atlanta at 4-2.
The Ravens were my preseason choice to win the entire AFC and nothing has changed in that regard. Baltimore is +300 to do so and a heavy -310 favourite to capture the AFC North, which I expect. The Bucs probably aren’t good enough to win the NFC but may well win the South for a fourth straight season. Tampa Bay is a +180 second favourite in the division behind the Falcons, who hold an early head-to-head tiebreaker.
These franchises have met only seven times, all in the regular season, with Baltimore leading 5-2. The Ravens won their fifth straight in the series two years ago, 27-22 in Tampa behind Lamar Jackson’s two
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens didn’t panic after a 0-2 start that easily could have been 2-0, and they have looked like arguably the NFL’s best team during a four-game winning streak after beating red-hot Washington, 30-23, on Sunday. Lamar Jackson had his second straight 300-yard passing day with 323 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 40 yards. He passed Cam Newton for the second-most rushing yards by a QB in league history. Jackson, incidentally, is now an absurd 22-1 vs. the NFC, the best interconference record among QBs since the 1970 merger (minimum 15 starts). Derrick Henry has been one of the best offseason free-agent pickups for any team as he added 132 yards and two scores on the ground and leads the league with 704 yards rushing and eight rushing TDs. Several teams haven’t reached those totals. Henry is the first NFL player to rush for a TD in each of his first six games since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2005. Baltimore is the first team in NFL history to outrush its opponent by at least 100 yards in each of its first six games of a season. It appears the Ravens got out of Sunday’s win healthy. They are 7-1 SU in their past eight road games.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers aren’t really thought of as an offensive juggernaut but hung 51 points and a franchise-record 594 yards on the Saints on Sunday in a 24-point road victory. Despite playing without injured No. 1 running back Rachaad White, who might be back for this one, Tampa Bay had a whopping 277 yards rushing on 7.9 yards per carry. Former undrafted free agent Sean Tucker got some decent run for the first time in his career and responded with 14 carries for 136 yards and a TD while also catching a TD pass. Baker Mayfield threw for 325 yards, four TDs and three picks, the third QB in franchise history with at least 300, four and three. Tampa Bay became the first NFL club in six years with at least 50 points and three turnovers in a game. Star safety Antoine Winfield Jr. returned after missing four games with an ankle injury, but cornerback Jamel Dean left injured. The Bucs are 3-9 ATS in their past 12 October games.
