Rams vs. Jaguars Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
The NFL in London series concludes this Sunday with an electric matchup between the 4-2 Los Angeles Rams and 4-2 Jacksonville Jaguars.
While the Jags are playing in London for the 12th consecutive season, this marks the first time that the Rams have played in London since 2019, and head coach Sean McVay is trying to improve to 3-0 all-time in international games.
Both teams are in the middle of a divisional battle during the first half of the NFL season, so Londoners are in for a great contest when the game kicks off this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET.
L.A. is a three-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with the total pegged at 45.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Rams are field-goal favourites, and the Over/Under (45) is the highest total of the three London games this season. Both squads are 4-2 overall, 4-2 against the spread, and 3-3 to the Over/Under. The Rams have been on an ATS tear, as they’re 11-3 ATS in their previous 14 games, 8-1 ATS in their last nine games away from home, 7-0 in their latest seven games against an AFC opponent, and have covered in six straight meetings with Jacksonville.
Now, Jacksonville is playing well against the number dating back to last season, as they’ve posted a 6-2 ATS record in their previous eight games. However, they’re just 2-18 ATS in their latest 20 games against the NFC West and are 3-16 straight up in their last 19 games as an underdog.
Los Angeles Rams
Sean McVay’s team has been one of the best in the NFL, and although they’re 4-2, they could easily be 6-0. They blew a 26-7 lead against the Eagles in Week 3 and fell by an overtime field goal to a Mac Jones-led 49ers squad in Week 5. LA bounced back from that defeat with a 19-7 victory at the Baltimore Ravens last week, but the bigger victory was that star WR Puka Nacua avoided a long-term injury. The wideout suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter, and although he returned in the third quarter, he didn’t receive another target. McVay said he’s currently day-to-day, and I expect him to suit up on Sunday.
Los Angeles ranks in the top half of the NFL in passing and rushing defence, and they’re allowing just 18.3 ppg (third in the NFL). That lines up with their red-zone defence, as they’re allowing a touchdown on just 44.4 per cent of opponent red-zone drives, which is also third in the league. If they can jump out to an early lead against this Jaguars team, I can’t see Trevor Lawrence leading a comeback.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville suffered its second loss of the season last weekend at home against the Seattle Seahawks. It felt like a big letdown spot for the Jags because they were coming off a big Monday Night Football win against the Chiefs before heading to London for this matchup. However, it doesn’t excuse the offence going scoreless throughout the entire second and third quarters. Looking at their 273 total yards in the box score may lead you to think they played well, but they tallied 143 total yards (52.4 per cent) on their two touchdown drives and didn’t do much otherwise.
Like LA, the Jacksonville defence is legit, and they give up just 20.0 ppg (T7 in the NFL). However, the key for the Jags has been turnovers, as they are tied with the Bears for the highest turnover margin (+8). They lead the league in interceptions (10), and their Week 6 loss against Seattle marked their first game without a forced turnover.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Rams vs. Jaguars?
I love Los Angeles’ chances in this game, especially if they play a clean game. Favourites at Wembley Stadium moved to 20-6-1 after the Broncos win last weekend. Back the Rams to win by more than a field goal, as this game should finish in a 24-17 Los Angeles victory.
