Rams vs. Cowboys Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 15 Odds

The only matchup in Week 15 around the NFL of division winners from last season is the Los Angeles Rams visiting the Dallas Cowboys, who have the advantage of extra rest.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Rams tied for the NFL’s best regular-season record last year 13-3 and won the NFC West, but they will not repeat in that division with the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers having such stellar seasons. The Dallas Cowboys tied for the fewest victories with 10 of any division winner in 2018 and they could repeat in the NFC East simply because that’s the weakest division in the league and might only take a 7-9 record to win it.

While L.A. had a bye in the first round of last season’s playoffs, the Cowboys were 24-22 home winners over Seattle. That earned Dallas – thanks to a Chicago loss to Philadelphia – a trip to Los Angeles to face the Rams in the Divisional Round. The Cowboys took a 7-3 lead after one quarter but wouldn’t score again until about five minutes remained in the third when they were down 23-7.

The Rams would prevail 30-22 to earn a spot in the NFC title game. L.A. battered the Cowboys for a franchise-record 273 yards rushing, also the most allowed ever in the playoffs by Dallas. The Rams got 123 yards and two scores from C.J. Anderson (now out of NFL) and 115 yards and a touchdown from Todd Gurley. Jared Goff threw for only 186 yards but wasn’t asked to do much. The Cowboys totaled 50 yards on the ground. Dak Prescott threw for a score and rushed for one. Clean game with just eight total penalties and no turnovers.

The favorite is 4-1 in the past five meetings and the under is 4-1 in the previous five in Dallas.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are chasing a Wild-Card spot and helped themselves in a big way Sunday night with a 28-12 win over a Seattle team that entered on a five-game winning streak. Goff threw for 293 yards and two scores but was picked twice. Gurley rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown. Right tackle Rob Havenstein (knee) and tight end Gerald Everett (knee) both were out injured. Tyler Higbee stepped up in Everett’s place with seven catches for a career-high 116 yards. Higbee became the first Rams tight end to have 100 or more receiving yards in consecutive games in the Super Bowl era. The Rams are 7-1 ATS in their past eight road games.

Dallas Cowboys

Many Cowboys fans were screaming for owner Jerry Jones to fire Coach Jason Garrett following the team’s third straight loss last Thursday, 31-24 in Chicago in a game that wasn’t that close. However, even with a 6-7 record the Cowboys are first in the NFC East. Prescott threw for 334 yards and a touchdown but most of his numbers were when the game was already decided. Zeke Elliott rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Brett Maher missed another field goal, and his 10 misses are more than any other NFL kicker has had in a season the past four years. Dallas worked out kickers last week and might do so again this week. The Cowboys are 1-7 ATS in their past eight vs. teams with a winning record.
