The Los Angeles Rams stand atop the standings as the NFL’s lone undefeated team after six weeks of the season, but they travel to San Francisco riding a three-game ATS losing streak. The price to back the Super Bowl favourites remains high with Todd Gurley and Co. hovering around double-digit chalk against the 49ers.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Rams opened as 10-point road favourites against the 49ers with an Over/Under line of 52.5. Los Angeles is the biggest road favourite on the betting board for a third consecutive week and the club is 1-2 against the spread away from its home field this year.

LA remains the favourite to win the Super Bowl at +333 and the club is even bigger chalk to come out of the NFC at +162. It’s clear the Rams are the best team in the league right now; it’s also clear the books are making it difficult to back Sean McVay’s side.

San Francisco is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. The Niners led for most of the second half only to lose in overtime and become the victims of another clutch Aaron Rodgers performance.

The 49ers remain a great Over bet despite the loss of starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. C.J. Beathard is slinging it and the Over is 5-0 in San Fran’s last five games.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams showed off the versatility of their offensive attack against the Denver Broncos last weekend. LA struggled to keep Denver pass rushers Von Miller and Bradley Chubb out of the backfield, so McVay dialed up All-Pro running back Todd Gurley’s number early and often.

Gurley finished with 208 rushing yards and two TD runs on 28 carries. He added two catches for 17 yards just for good measure. Gurley’s role in the passing game should expand over the next few weeks because of the injury to Cooper Kupp.

The second year receiver out of Eastern Washington suffered a knee sprain in the first half against Denver and is expected to miss a few weeks.

San Francisco 49ers

The strength of the 49ers offensive attack is on the ground. The Niners are third in rushing yards per game (142.5) and they’re tied for second in rushing yards per attempt (5.1). C.J. Beathard is piling up passing yards but the backup QB forced into starting duty has been picked off five times and fumbled the ball three times over the last three weeks.
