Raiders vs. Titans Point Spread: NFL Week 3 Odds, Prediction
Each club has begun the 2022–23 NFL season with two losses despite both making the AFC playoffs a season ago.
The Raiders fumbled a 20-point lead to Arizona and fell in overtime 29-23 in their home opener for a tough defeat. Tennessee’s most recent defeat was tough in another fashion, getting blown out 41-7 at Buffalo. Now, desperation’s kicking off with one club flirting with an 0-3 start.
Kickoff at Nissan Stadium is set for 1 p.m. EDT with the Raiders 2.5-point favourites on the road and the over-under at 45.5 on the NFL odds.
NFL Week 3 Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Not only is each club winless in game action through two appearances, each is also o-fer against the spread. Both teams dropped their home openers as favourites, and haven’t started hot on offence. Tennessee’s combined for 27 points this season, and Las Vegas 42.
The Raiders are now 4-9 ATS in their last 13 appearances, but 8-4 ATS in their last 12 meetings with Tennessee including a 5-1 ATS run in the last six Raiders–Titans games in Nashville. The under is a popular trend in this one too, and not just because of each team’s offensive struggles. Five of Las Vegas’ last seven games have hit the under, as well as six of Tennessee’s last eight and all five of their last five games at home.
Las Vegas Raiders
More starters have hit the Raiders injury report for Week 3. Among them is receiver Hunter Renfrow, which is a double whammy considering Renfrow’s head injury was suffered on his game-ending fumble in overtime to Arizona. The fumble ended in a scoop and score for the Cardinals, capping off a blown 20-point lead for Las Vegas.
Defensive tackle Bilal Nichols suffered a shoulder injury in the loss too, joining centre Andre James, linebacker Denzel Perryman, and safety Tre’von Moehrig on Las Vegas’ injury report.
On top of the injury report, something else to monitor is the usage of star receiver Davante Adams. After a 10-catch, 141-yard game on 17 targets in his Raiders debut, Adams finished with just two receptions for 12 yards on seven targets in Week 2.
Tennessee Titans
A brewing quarterback controversy, a lack of playmakers on offence, and a defence with 808 yards allowed through two outings — to summarize, things aren’t so great in Tennessee at the moment. 34-year-old Ryan Tannehill has 383 passing yards and two touchdowns so far, and 2022 third-round pick Malik Willis is anxiously waiting to get his shot. For now, the job is still Tannehill’s.
Possibly more concerning is Derrick Henry’s start to 2022. Henry has a 3.1-yard average on 34 carries as the Titans are visibly suffering without bonafide receivers. After Henry’s 107 total yards, 2022 first-round pick Treylon Burks is the only Titans player with over 100 (102 receiving). Then on top of the yards allowed, Tennessee’s turnover ratio is at -3 on the season.
