The New England Patriots are coming off a huge 23-17 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in which they held Baltimore under 20 points for the first time in 32 games. They’ve now won two in a row and head over to Houston to face off against the Texans. Houston dropped to 2-7 after their most recent loss to the Cleveland Browns 10-7 but they find themselves as a favorite here.

NFL Week 11 Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Patriots are 11-3 SU in their last 14 games after posting consecutive wins and are 7-0 SU and 6-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven games on the road against teams with losing records. However, they are 0-4 ATS in their last four games after an ATS win.

The Texans are coming off covering against the Browns but are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games after an ATS win. They are also 2-8 SU and ATS in their last 10 games. The total has gone under in four of the Texans’ last five games at home.

New England Patriots

The Patriots put together their best effort of the season on Sunday night, controlling the Ravens for the final three quarters. They played motivated and tough football against a very good Ravens squad. Their passing game wasn’t very good again, though, as Cam Newton passed for 118 yards and a touchdown. The rushing attack was what put them over the edge. They took 39 carries for 173 yards and a touchdown while chewing up the clock. The biggest story was how good their defence played after allowing Joe Flacco and the New York Jets score 27 points. They wanted to make a statement and did just that. Now they hope to make it three in a row against a Texans team that has struggled mightily on each side of the football this season – especially against the run.

Houston Texans

Houston wasn’t able to do anything offensively in their last game against the Browns. Gusty winds hampered the passing game as Deshaun Watson threw for 163 yards and a touchdown. The backfield took 22 carries for 90 yards. It was a very disappointing offensive day for a team that was missing their starting running back David Johnson. On defence, they were unable to limit the Browns dominant rushing attack but still held them to only 10 points throughout the game.

If they want to take down the Patriots, their run defence will have to perk up. They’re currently 32nd in the NFL allowing 167.4 rushing yards as they give up an ugly 5.2 yards per carry.
