The top of the division faces the bottom of the division in this Patriots vs. Bills matchup. These two teams have a rich history against one another, but it’s a history that has usually seen the Pats come out on top over the last decade.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Every stat basically favours the Patriots. First off, the Patriots have won the last three meetings against the Bills by an average score of 19 points, and eight of the last 10 games. The Pats are 13-3 against the spread in their last 16 games in Buffalo. The Patriots largest margin of victory against the Bills is 46 points during a game back in 2007. The Patriots offence has been on fire scoring no less than 38 points per game in the last four games. New England is 72-43-1 lifetime against the Bills.

New England Patriots

The Patriots had a hiccup back on Sunday, Sept. 23 when they were tamed by the Detroit Lions 26-10. It almost seems like a learning moment for this 2018 version of the New England Patriots, as they have rattled off four straight wins since.  Monday they face a team that seems to be a mismatch, especially on paper. The major reason, wait for it, Tom Brady. Brady is 28-3 lifetime versus the Bills. His 28 wins against them are the most ever by a quarterback against a single team. While playing them in Western New York he is 14-2 as a starter. The numbers are staggering. There seems to be something about Brady and Monday Night Football as well. Brady has thrown 48 MNF touchdown passes, and is on the top five all-time list (Dan Marino is number one with 74 touchdown passes on Monday night). Tight end Rob Gronkowski sat out last week’s game against the Bears, but is expected to return for this game. Also, running back Sony Michel is officially listed as week-to-week and will miss this game due to a knee injury.

Buffalo Bills

This team might be the worst team in football and with some of the injuries it has, might stay that way for the entire season. The Bills have a major problem putting the ball in the end zone, currently ranked dead last in scoring (11.6 points per game). The Bills have only put up 13 points or fewer in five of their seven games this season. Journeyman Quarterback Derek Anderson is expected to make his second straight start. Last week against the Colts, Anderson was 20-of-31 for 175 yards, three interceptions, and a passer rating of 39.8 percent. Not exactly the kind of Bills debut he wanted to have. The Bills are the only team in the entire NFL not to have passed for at least 1000 yards in the first seven games of the season. They only average 129.4 passing yards per game.
