Panthers vs. Lions Point Spread: NFL Week 11 Odds, Prediction

Looking at this matchup two weeks ago and you’d think the Panthers would take this one with ease. However, after watching Cam Newton take an absolute smacking from the Steelers last Thursday 51-21, it could be argued that this one is anyone’s game.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Panthers are favored in this game, but only by -3 points. No doubt, this is thanks to the recent Steeler throttling. It does give you a bit of wiggle room though with that spread.

The black cats are also 10-1 ATS following a straight up loss. Then, to give you even more confidence, the Lions are 3-10 ATS against a team with a winning record. All of the stars could align for you in Detroit this weekend!

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers were looking like they could be a total dark horse pick in the NFC. Not all hope is lost, but Newton has now officially sunk to 24th in the league in yards per game with 242. He’s also 11th in rating at 101.2 and touchdowns with 17. How could this hurt your pick?

Detroit’s passing defence is pretty decent. They’re eighth in the league in passing yards allowed per game with 229.4. Mind you, they’re also allowing the fifth most rushing yards per game at 132.7, so it’s likely that Christian McCaffrey will run the show at Ford Field.

Detroit Lions

It’s been another season full of regret for the lowly Lions. Mind you, they’ve had worse. However, an NFC North worst 3-6 record is not what new head coach Matt Patricia hand in mind when he took the reigns in the Motor City.

Matt Stafford is 17th in passer rating with his 93.8. Rookie Kerryon Johnson has been better with his 61.6 yards per game on the ground and Kenny Golladay has also been a nice surprise with 66.8 receiving yards per tilt. Not bad numbers, but not great.

The issues once again, as they always seem to in Detroit, fall on the defense. Patricia was brought in from New England for his defensive prowess and thus far, it’s gone unseen. Detroit is 29th in the league in picks with just three this season and tied for 22nd with six forced fumbles.
