Packers vs. Seahawks Recap: Pack Grounds Seattle in 30-13 SNF Beatdown
The loss snapped Seattle’s four-game winning streak and left their playoff hopes in a precarious spot.
Jordan Love had his way with the Seahawks’ secondary, tossing two touchdown passes to Romeo Doubs, while the Packers’ defence made life miserable for both Geno Smith and backup Sam Howell.
Let’s start with how the Packers set the tone early. Josh Jacobs practically carried Green Bay’s first drive, touching the ball on nine of the first ten plays and punching it in from a yard out to cap a methodical opening possession. After a quick Seahawks punt, Love found Doubs in the end zone to make it 14-0—Doubs dragged two defenders across the goal line like it was nothing, then waved at the camera to let everyone know who was in charge. By halftime, the Packers were up 20-3, scoring on all four first-half possessions while Seattle’s offence was stuck in neutral.
Seattle’s night went from bad to worse in the third quarter. Already trailing 20-6, Smith went down with a knee injury after taking a low hit from Edgerrin Cooper, throwing his helmet in frustration as he limped off. Enter Sam Howell, who promptly struggled under Green Bay’s relentless pass rush. Howell’s night included a pick, four sacks, and just 24 passing yards on 5-of-14 attempts. Meanwhile, Doubs struck again with a beautiful toe-tap touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach and silencing the home crowd.
The Seahawks showed some fight early in the fourth with Zach Charbonnet breaking free for a 24-yard touchdown run to make it 23-13, but it was too little, too late. Howell’s interception on the next possession killed any hope of a comeback, and Doubs’ second score sealed the deal. The Packers’ win snapped their long losing streak at Lumen Field—they hadn’t won there since 2008—and solidified their position as one of the NFC’s most dangerous teams heading into the postseason.
Packers at Seahawks Betting Recap
The Packers entered the game as 2.5-point favourites and comfortably covered the spread with their 17-point win. The total points scored (43) fell just under the over/under line of 44, favouring under bettors. This victory strengthens Green Bay’s position in the NFC playoff race, keeping them in contention for a wild-card spot and within reach of the division-leading Lions.
Seattle (8-6) is now tied with the Rams in the NFC West, and with a Week 17 rematch looming, the division could come down to the wire. For the Seahawks, Smith’s injury looms large. If he’s not ready to go against the Vikings next week, Seattle’s offence might struggle to keep up with Minnesota’s high-powered attack.
