The Indianapolis Colts have completed their unlikely ascent to the top of the AFC South division standings – but staying there could be a tall task as they face the NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon. The Colts are coming off another sensational defensive effort in a 34-17 win over Tennessee that moved them into a tie with the Titans atop the division. The Packers are no slouches, coming into the weekend with an impressive 7-3 mark.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

These two teams are quite evenly matched in the eyes of oddsmakers, who have the Colts as an ever-so-slight favourite by virtue of home-field advantage. NFC opponents have brought out the best in Indianapolis, which is a red-hot 4-1 ATS in its last four games vs. the conference. And while the Packers are 6-3 ATS in their last nine games overall, they’ve covered just twice in their previous nine head-to-head meetings with the Colts.

The total for this one is set at 51.5, which strikes us as odd given how stout the Indy defence has been so far this season. But the Colts have converted the over in four of their previous five games, while the teams have exceeded the total in each of their previous six games (while averaging more than 61 points per game in that stretch). And Sports Interaction bettors are riding the Over here, with 65 percent siding with the O51.5.

Green Bay Packers

Might the Packers be without their most dangerous offensive weapon (with all due apologies to quarterback Aaron Rodgers)? Wide receiver Davante Adams’ status for the Week 11 game could be in doubt as he deals with an ankle injury. His absence would be a significant one for a Packers team that averages 30.8 points per game (third-most in the league); Adams comes into Week 11 with 61 catches for 741 yards and nine touchdowns on the season.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts’ defence doesn’t need additional motivation: it’s allowing the fourth-fewest points in the league at 19.7. But Sunday could feature a slightly more amped-up Darius Leonard, after the veteran linebacker admitted he felt snubbed when Rodgers suggested that San Francisco’s Fred Warner was the best LB in the NFL. Leonard is enjoying a terrific season in Indianapolis, having racked up 60 tackles (40 solo) with four stuffs and a forced fumble.
