Packers vs. Buccaneers Week 4 Betting Odds, Prediction and Picks: Packers Favoured With Mayfield Out

Add Sports Interacton as Your Preferred News Source

A pair of teams desperate for a win meet on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Week 4 of the NFL season.

The Packers enter this contest with a 1-2 record after beating the Jets in Week 2 and falling to the Vikings and Falcons in Weeks 1 and 3. Green Bay has struggled mightily out of the gate, as even their lone win came in unconvincing fashion in overtime against New York. Head coach Matt LaFleur is undoubtedly feeling the pressure, and wouldn’t do himself any favours by falling to 1-3 with a loss to Tampa Bay in Week 4.

On the other side, the Buccaneers are off to an abysmal 0-3 start with losses to the Bengals, Browns, and Vikings. To make matters even worse, quarterback Baker Mayfield will be out for at least three weeks after suffering a thumb injury in Week 3 against Minnesota. Tampa Bay is expected to hand the offensive reins to rookie Jalon Daniels, who has yet to complete a pass in his NFL career.

The Buccaneers won the most recent meeting between these teams 34-20 in Green Bay on December 17, 2023.

NFL Betting Odds, Point Spread, Trends

Despite playing on the road, oddsmakers are giving the edge to the Packers. Green Bay is favoured by 3.5 points with odds of -180 on the moneyline. Tampa Bay has odds of +150 on the moneyline while the total is listed at 38.5.

The Green Bay offence has looked out of whack to begin the new season. Jordan Love has completed just 52.4% of his passes, which is far below his career average of 63.4%. The running game has also been unreliable, and the absence of Josh Jacobs is undoubtedly being felt. The Packers’ 48.7 rushing yards per game are the fewest in the NFL, and their longest run of the season is just 14 yards.

Daniels is set to get his first career NFL start in this matchup. An undrafted rookie, Daniels shined in college at Kansas and possesses a strong dual-threat ability. However, his inexperience presents a lot of unknowns for Tampa Bay’s offence. It’s not like the Tampa Bay offence was humming with Mayfield, as the Buccaneers’ 279.3 total yards per game ranks 27th in the NFL through three games.

NFL Player Odds and Props

Jordan Love Under 35.5 pass attempts (-123)

Jordan Love has been letting it fly so far this season, and it’s clear that strategy hasn’t been working for Green Bay. Love has already attempted 124 passes through three games, recording 42, 29, and 53. His completion percentage of 52.4% has forced him to rack up the attempts, but asking him to throw 40+ times a game may not be a sound game plan moving forward. The Green Bay running game has to get going, and a more complimentary approach to this one could lead to fewer attempts for Love.

Bucky Irving 60+ rushing yards (-125)

With a rookie QB making his first career NFL start, the Buccaneers could rely on the running game a bit more than usual. That could lead to increased opportunities for Bucky Irving, who has collected 180 yards on 40 carries through three games. He’s seen 15+ carries over each of the last two weeks, and is averaging 4.5 yards per rush on the season. If he sees 15+ rushing attempts again, he could be in a strong position to reach the 60-yard mark for the second time this season.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay WR Christian Watson is off to a phenomenal start in 2026. Through three games, Watson has hauled in 17 catches for 284 yards with four touchdowns. He seems primed for a career year, and if the Packers want to avoid falling to 1-3, he figures to be involved in the passing game early and often.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have entered a new era without Mike Evans on the roster. Evans had been a mainstay in Tampa Bay over the first 12 years of his career, and had emerged into one of the game’s most lethal wide receivers. He is now in San Francisco, as the Buccaneers are looking for Emeka Egbuka to take a big step forward. So far this season Egbuka leads Tampa Bay with 13 catches for 141 yards and a touchdown.
