Giants RB Saquon Barkley Suffers Ankle Injury

It took a long time for the Giants to score their first points of 2023, but they eventually got the monkey off their back when QB Daniel Jones scampered into the endzone in the third quarter to make it a 20-7 ball game. That sparked a memorable comeback for the G Men, who trailed 28-7 at one point but emerged victorious in the desert 31-28.

That said, it wasn’t all roses when the clock struck zero. Running back Saquon Barkley, a notable fixture in the attack, injured his ankle on a big drive down the stretch in the fourth quarter.

It was a big day for the popular ball carrier. He only ran for 63 yards but scored two touchdowns and caught passes for 29 yards as well.

He will undergo an MRI on Monday to see how bad the injury is.

It may be optimistic to expect him to partake in the Giants’ Week 3 contest, as it arrives quickly. They travel to San Francisco to face a stern 49ers club on Thursday night.

Speaking of Week 10, the Giants are definitely the underdog. It’s very early, but they sit at +10.5 (up from +10.0) against San Francisco as of Monday morning.
