NFL Week 8 Monday Morning GIF BLITZ!

Here we are at the halfway point of the NFL season with week 8 in the books. If you’re keeping track, the Raiders are the only team to have fired their head coach mid-season, the Seahawks and Jets pulled off the only blockbuster trade for Percy Harvin and the Oakland Raiders have yet to win a game. Sorry, Oakland. You’re 0-2 on the season recap, so far.

Below is the finest that week 8 had to offer. We had some spectacular catches and overall play, this weekend. Get ready for the second half of the season Here are our betting lines on the upcoming week’s football games.

A battle between two of the NFC’s top teams did not disappoint in a close game between the Cardinals and Eagles. The Cardinals were able to capitalize on two Foles’ interceptions to win 20-24. The game wouldn’t be decided until an Eagles Hail Mary went incomplete in the last second of regulation as a Cardinals defensive back shoved an Eagles receiver out of bounds on the play before he could get his feet in bounds. Below is the second most important shove-out-of-bounds play the Cardinals enforced on the Eagles.

The Eagles plan to beat the Cardinals by dehydration wasn’t as effective as they hoped.

Jets quarterback Geno Smith had another dismal game, throwing three interceptions in the first quarter before being benched for Mike Vick. On the other side of the ball, Kyle Orton threw four touchdown passes, but could have had five if rookie Sammy Watkins had not slowed down to celebrate a little too early. The Bills would go on to an east 43-23 win.

Don’t be embarrassed, Sammy. Lots of receivers suffer from premature celebration.

The Steelers launched a full assault on the visiting Colts 34-51 on the back of Ben Roesthlisberger’s six touchdown performance. Some credit needs to go to the Colts typically stout defense for not generating any pass rush and failing to cover anyone. Even when they did cover well, the Steelers receivers found a way to make incredible catches. Here’s Emmanuel Sander’s with the one-handed grab for a touchdown.

To be fair, the Colts could be nauseous from chasing those monsterous Steelers throwbacks all over the field.

The Bears defense continued it’s torrid streak of letting anything and everything past them against the Patriots, losing 23-51. Man-child Rob Gronkowski caught three of Tom Brady’s five touchdown passes, including this 46 yard catch and run against safety Ryan Mundy.

Word on the street is that Mundy’s new nickname has been pared down to “Speedbump” or “The Gnat.”

Despite the Bears defense, the offense is doing it’s best to keep the Bears in games. Here’s Alshon Jeffery catching a 20 yard touchdown pass from Jay Cutler. While falling backwards. With two defenders covering him. While those defenders are being flagged for interference. It would be too little to late for the Bears as this touchdown was merely cosmetic in a 23-51 loss to the Patriots.

Jay Cutler was not impressed by this catch, because Cutler is not impressed by anything.

With Geno Smith sinking the Jets offense into a pit of despair, the defense tries to make up for up for lost yardage as Muhammad Wilkerson politely but firmly disagrees with Bills running back Boobie Dixon on the unofficial spot of the ball. The Bills won 43-23

This is so childish. Also, that guys nickname is Boobie! Ha.

Rookie Teddy Bridgewater has had a rough go of it as a starting quarterback for the Vikings but seem to be finding his groove. Here’s Bridgewater completing a beautiful pass over two defensive backs hitting Greg Jennings right in the hands while taking a huge hit from Tampa Bay’s defense. The Vikings would beat the downtrodden Buccaneers 19-13.

At least Tampa Bay has nice weather.

The Cardinals are atop the NFC West after beating the Philadelphia Eagles 20-24 in a fantastic game that saw a lot of passing yardage. Below is Carson Palmer’s game winning 75 yard pass for the amazing catch and touchdown to John Brown.

Carson Palmer hasn’t looked this good since…I’ll get back to you.

The Packers and Saints went score for score for much of the first half before New Orleans took advantage of some rare Rodgers interceptions on a set of tipped passes to open up the game. Neither defense could do much to stop the other team. Here’s Brandin Cooks with the incredible catch on his own tip to himself for a big gain. The Saints went on to beat the Packers 23-44.

The Packer’s wet paper bag defense was on display for much of the evening.

The Lions and Falcons both made the trip to London for a game that would be won in the final seconds. Atlanta went up 21-0 in the first half. The Lions came back with 22 unanswered points to win the game on a last second field goal for a final score of 22-21

It was at this point when the Falcons conceded that they would not score for the rest of the game.
