NFL Week 18 Power Rankings

Daniel Coyle | Updated Jan 04, 2024

This is it, the final week of the NFL regular season, and the action remains hot on the rankings.

The Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams continue their steady rise, but a lack of success at the sportsbook has done little to the boost the fortunes of the surging Buffalo Bills and defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Here are the NFL Betting Power Rankings for Week 18.

1. Baltimore Ravens SU: 13-3

ATS: 11-5

Super Bowl Odds: +350

Last week’s ranking: 1

The Ravens asserted their dominance in last weekend’s 56-19 rout of Miami, and have claimed victory by an average margin of 16.7 points during their current 6-0 SU run, but have covered just twice in four home appearance going into their season finale versus the visiting Steelers,

2. Cleveland Browns SU: 11-5

ATS: 10-5-1

Super Bowl Odds: +3500

Last week’s ranking: 3

The Browns have emerged as an increasingly popular pick on the NFL futures. And why not? They have averaged 31 points per game while winning and covering in four straight, and have remained undervalued at the sportsbook, where they have been favoured by more than three points just once in eight games.

3. Detroit Lions SU: 11-5

ATS: 11-5

Super Bowl Odds: +2000

Last week’s ranking: 4

The Lions confounded their sports betting fans by insisting on going for the win when they could have forced overtime with a simple PAT following a late score in last week’s 20-19 loss to Dallas. The loss drops them to 3-3 SU in their past six, but Detroit has covered in four of five.

4. Los Angeles Rams SU: 9-7

ATS: 9-6-1

Super Bowl Odds: +5000

Last week’s ranking: 9

The Rams have silenced the naysayers with wins in six of their past seven. With Matthew Stafford in vintage form, the Rams have averaged 26 points per game over that stretch, fueling a 5-1 ATS run.

5. San Francisco 49ers SU:  12-4

ATS: 9-7

Super Bowl Odds: +210

Last week’s ranking: 5

The 49ers rebounded from their crushing loss to Baltimore on Christmas Day with last week’s 27-10 over Washington. However, the Niners remain an inconsistent bet against the spread, covering in consecutive games just once during a 5-6 ATS run, including four straight ATS defeats on home turf.

6. Miami Dolphins SU: 11-5

ATS: 10-6

Super Bowl Odds: +1300

Last week’s ranking: 2

The Dolphins saw this season’s struggles against topflight opponents continue with last week’s blowout loss in Baltimore, and will be aiming to improve on a middling 5-5 ATS run when they host the surging Bills on Sunday night.

7. Buffalo Bills SU: 10-6

ATS: 6-10

Super Bowl Odds: +800

Last week’s ranking: 6

The Bills have positioned themselves to claim the AFC East crown with a win in their Week 18 showdown with Miami by claiming victory in each of their past four games. However, with 10 of their past 12 contests getting settled by just a single score, the Bills have been a betting disappointment, going 3-9 ATS over that stretch, capped by decisive ATS defeats as double-digit chalk in the past two weeks.

8. Dallas Cowboys SU: 11-5

ATS: 9-7

Super Bowl Odds: +800

Last week’s ranking: 8

The Cowboys were fortunate to escape with last week’s narrow victory over Detroit. The win snapped a two-game SU slide, but with just 16.7 points scored per game, Dallas is now enduring a 0-3 ATS slump.

9. Chicago Bears SU: 7-9

ATS: 8-7-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 12

The Bears have emerged as one of the most reliable bets in the NFL over the final two months of the season. Chicago has paid out in five of its past six games. And while their have lost four of five on the road ahead of Sunday’s visit to Green Bay, they have covered in three of their past four, with those contests getting settled by a combined margin of just 17 points.

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers SU: 8-8

ATS: 10-6

Super Bowl Odds: +15000

Last week’s ranking: 10

11. Las Vegas Raiders SU: 7-9

ATS: 9-6-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 16

The Raiders slim playoff hopes were snuffed out with last weekend’s loss to the Colts. However, this team deserves a hat tip for rebounding from a dismal run at the sportsbooks, going 6-1-1 ATS in their past eight.

12. New Orleans Saints SU: 8-8

ATS: 5-10-1

Super Bowl Odds: +20000

Last week’s ranking: 17

After covering just twice during an uninspired 5-7 SU start to the season, the Saints have revived their playoff hopes while winning and covering in three of their past four

13. Indianapolis Colts SU: 9-7

ATS: 9-7

Super Bowl Odds: +10000

Last week’s ranking: 11

Gardner Minshew and the Colts have muscled their way into the battle for the top of the AFC South while winning six of their past eight games. However, a sputtering offence has contributed to a 1-3 ATS swoon.

14. Philadelphia Eagles SU: 11-5

ATS: 7-7-2

Super Bowl Odds: +1100

Last week’s ranking: 7

The Eagles’ worrisome late-season swoon continued with last weekend’s 35-31 loss to Arizona. Philly has now lost four of five while surrendering 31 points per game, fueling a 0-5 ATS run over that stretch.

15. Seattle Seahawks SU: 8-8

ATS: 8-6-2

Super Bowl Odds: +20000

Last week’s ranking: 13

The Seahawks saw a four-game ATS unbeaten streak end with last weekend’s 30-23 loss to Pittsburgh, and enjoy a 3-0-1 ATS run on the road going into Sunday’s visit to Arizona.

16. Kansas City Chiefs SU: 10-6

ATS: 8-7-1

Super Bowl Odds: +900

Last week’s ranking: 15

The Chiefs finally clinched the AFC West crown with last weekend’s win over the Bengals, but have stumbled their way through the second half while failing to post consecutive victories and compiling a dismal 3-5-1 ATS run.

17. Cincinnati Bengals SU: 8-8

ATS: 6-8-2

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 14

The Bengals were finally put out of their misery with last week’s 25-17 loss in Kansas City. Cincinnati has scored just 28 total points during their current two-game swoon, and have covered just twice in eight games.

18. Houston Texans SU: 9-7

ATS: 8-8

Super Bowl Odds: +10000

Last week’s ranking: 19

The Texans may be on their way to their first winning season in four years, but they have failed to record consecutive SU wins during a 3-3 run, and have wilted amid heightened expectations at the sportsbooks while going 4-6 ATS in their past 10.

19. Jacksonville Jaguars SU: 9-7

ATS: 9-7

Super Bowl Odds: +3500

Last week’s ranking: 26

The Jaguars halted a four-game SU and ATS losing streak withy last weekend’s 26-0 rout of the Panthers. However, injuries and recent disappointing performances on the road should keep fans off the bandwagon in Week 18.

20. Green Bay Packers SU: 8-8

ATS: 8-8

Super Bowl Odds: +12500

Last week’s ranking: 20

The Packers have kept their playoff hopes alive with back-to-back road wins, but have covered just once in their past four and are winless ATS this season as betting chalk.

21. Pittsburgh Steelers SU: 9-7

ATS: 9-7

Super Bowl Odds: +25000

Last week’s ranking: 25

The Steelers have resuscitated their payoff hopes with consecutive SU and ATS wins, ending a 0-3 slide. However, a middling 1-2 SU and ATS run on the run, during which they have averaged just 13 points per game, does little to boost confidence.

22. Arizona Cardinals SU: 4-12

ATS: 8-8

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 27

Wins have been rare for this season, but when the Seahawks have won, they have made it count. Winners in three of their past seven, all against opponents in the playoff hunt, combined with a respectable 5-4 ATS run, the Cardinals can’t be counted out in Sunday’s finale against the desperate Seahawks.

23. New York Giants SU: 5-11

ATS: 7-8-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 22

The euphoria generated by a three-game win streak that started in November has quickly dissipated amid three straight loss since. However, the Giants have continued to pay out while going 5-1 ATS in their past six, and are 4-1 ATS in their past five when pegged as underdogs by more than six points.

24. New England Patriots SU: 4-12

ATS: 5-10-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 24

Long eliminated from playoff contention, the Patriots have managed to overcome some of the offensive woes that haunted them midseason while going 2-2 SU and 3-0-1 ATS in their past four, and have seen nine of their past 11 games settled by a single score.

25. Denver Broncos SU: 8-8

ATS: 6-9-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 18

The Broncos enter the final weekend of a lost season amid a controversy under center, and on an uninspired 2-3 SU and ATS run.

26. Atlanta Falcons SU: 7-9

ATS: 5-11

Super Bowl Odds: +75000

Last week’s ranking: 21

The Falcons have lost and failed to cover in three of four. They have also struggled to generate offence on the road, averaging just 14.1 points per game while going 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS ahead of their Week 18 visit to New Orleans.

27. Carolina Panthers SU: 2-14

ATS: 5-10-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 23

The Panthers have clinched the bottom of the NFL league standings with back-to-back losses over the holidays, but have covered in three of five, and are 3-2 ATS in their past five home dates.

28. Tennessee Titans SU: 5-11

ATS: 6-9-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 29

The Titans have averaged just 12 points per game while going winless SU and ATS in three straight, and 3-8-1 ATS in their past 12 overall.

29. Minnesota Vikings SU: 7-9

ATS: 7-6-3

Super Bowl Odds: +100000

Last week’s ranking: 30

Incredibly, the Vikings enter the final week of the regular season still mathematically in the playoff hunt despite losing three straight while allowing 30 points per game, and going 1-3-2 ATS in their past six overall.

30. New York Jets SU: 6-10

ATS: 5-10-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 28

The Jets have allowed 31.7 points per game over their past three outings, and are an abysmal 1-8-1 ATS in their past 10 overall, and winless SU and ATS in their past four on the road going into Sunday’s visit to New England.

31. Los Angeles Chargers SU: 5-11

ATS: 6-10

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 31

The Chargers stumble into Week 18 a shadow of their former selves. The Chargers have been limited to 10 or fewer points four times while losing seven of eight, and also ride a four-game slide against division rivals.

32. Washington Commanders SU: 4-12

ATS: 6-9-1

Super Bowl Odds: OTB

Last week’s ranking: 32

It is tough to overstate the enormity of the Commanders’ meltdown since opening the season on a 2-0 run. The Commanders have been lit up for 30.8 points per game while losing 12 of 14 including each of the past seven, and have lost by an average of 20 points in six straight home defeats.
