NFL Week 15 Predictions: Best Picks Against the Spread

Here’s a quick look at all the Week 15 matchups with Sports Interaction’s NFL  Week 15 odds. Games Sunday unless noted. The last NFL game ever in Oakland also is on tap.

New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens, Thursday

Last Thursday night game of the year. Baltimore won its franchise-record ninth game in a row Sunday, 24-17 in Buffalo, and became the first team in the AFC to clinch a playoff berth (Chiefs also did later in the afternoon). New York beat Miami 22-21 on a last-second field goal. First meeting as professionals for two quarterbacks taken in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft in the Jets’ Sam Darnold (No. 3 overall) and Ravens’ Lamar Jackson (No. 32). Clearly, the Jets would take Jackson if they could do it all over again.

Point spread: Ravens -14.5

Pick ATS: NY Jets

New England Patriots at Cincinnati Bengals

New England lost its second game in a row and had a 21-game home winning streak snapped in a 23-16 defeat to Kansas City on Sunday. A couple of very questionable calls went against the Patriots, including one clear touchdown by rookie N’Keal Harry that wasn’t ruled a TDE. New England would have to settle for a field goal on that drive. Cincinnati lost 27-19 in Cleveland. Joe Mixon had 146 yards rushing and a touchdown, his second 100-yard game of the season.

Point spread: Patriots -9

Pick ATS: Cincinnati

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions

Detroit lost its sixth in a row Sunday, 20-7 at Minnesota. It was the first time this season the Lions didn’t lead in a game. They are down to third-string QB David Blough due to injuries. Tampa Bay won its third in a row by beating the Colts 38-35. Jameis Winston showed why he’s such a tantalizing yet frustrating talent. He threw for 456 yards and four scores and rushed for another TD but also was intercepted three times, which led to 17 Indy points.

Point spread: Bucs -3.5

Pick ATS: Detroit

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers

Green Bay goes for the season sweep as it was a 10-3 upset winner in Chicago in the 2019 Kickoff Game back on Sept. 5. Defences dominated with the teams combining for just 467 yards. The Bears are on extra rest after beating the Cowboys last Thursday. Mitchell Trubisky had three TD passes and ran for one. The Packers stayed alone atop the NFC North win a 20-15 win over Washington on Sunday.

Point spread: Packers -4.5

Pick ATS: Green Bay

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans

Crucial game in the AFC South, with the teams playing again in Week 17 in Houston. The Titans jumped into a tie for first with their 42-21 win in Oakland and Houston being stunned at home by Denver. The Titans have won six of seven games since benching Marcus Mariota for Ryan Tannehill at quarterback. They are second in the NFL in scoring over that stretch at 31.4 points per game.

Point spread: Titans -3

Pick ATS: Tennessee

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City won in Denver 30-6 in Week 7 despite losing superstar Patrick Mahomes to a knee injury in the second quarter. He would miss the next two games. The Chiefs won a third in a row Sunday, 23-16 at New England to clinch the AFC West. Mahomes injured his hand early but played through it and threw for 283 yards and a score. The Broncos were upset winners in Houston as rookie Drew Lock threw for 309 yards and three scores in his second NFL start.

Point spread: Chiefs -11.5

Pick ATS: Denver

Miami Dolphins at New York Giants

Only potentially a higher spot in the 2020 NFL Draft is at stake here. The Giants are on a short week after visiting Philadelphia on Monday without injured rookie starting quarterback Daniel Jones. Eli Manning got the call and these are likely his final few weeks as a Giant. The Dolphins lost in the final seconds Sunday at the New York Jets.

Point spread: Giants -3 (may change depending on Monday)

Pick ATS: NY Giants

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins

The schedule-makers have been kind to the Eagles of late as they hosted the terrible New York Giants on Monday and now face an equally-bad Washington team ahead of Philly’s huge home showdown with Dallas in Week 16. The Redskins were losers in Green Bay on Sunday. The Eagles opened the season with a 32-27 home win over Washington, rallying from a 17-0 second-quarter deficit.

Point spread: Eagles -6 (may change depending on Monday)

Pick ATS: Philadelphia

Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers

Seattle had been the NFL’s lone unbeaten team on the road but that ended in a 28-12 loss at the Rams on Sunday night. Russell Wilson was held without a touchdown pass. Seattle could have clinched a playoff spot with a win. Carolina played its first game since firing Coach Ron Rivera but it didn’t change much Sunday as the Panthers were 40-20 losers in Atlanta, their fifth straight defeat.

Point spread: Seahawks -6

Pick ATS: Seattle

Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders

Should be a very emotional day in Oakland as this is it for the Raiders in that city (which also recently lost the NBA’s Warriors to San Francisco) ahead of their move to Las Vegas. The Raiders have faded from playoff contention on a three-game skid. The Jaguars look like they have quit under embattled coach Doug Marrone, losing their fifth in a row Sunday 45-10 at home to the Chargers. The Jags are the first team since 1986 to lose five straight by at least 17 points.

Point spread: Raiders -6

Pick ATS: Oakland

Cleveland Browns at Arizona Cardinals

Matchup of former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks at Oklahoma who went No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft in Cleveland’s Baker Mayfield and Arizona’s Kyler Murray. Cleveland kept its slim playoff hopes alive with a 27-19 win over Cincinnati on Sunday, while Arizona dropped its sixth in a row, 23-17 to Pittsburgh. Murray has been held under 200 yards passing in the past three.

Point spread: Browns -2.5

Pick ATS: Cleveland

Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers

This had been the prime-time game but was flexed out because the Chargers are well under .500 as one of the league’s biggest disappointments. It’s the Vikings’ first-ever game at the “Los Angeles” Chargers. Minnesota was a 20-7 home winner Sunday over Detroit, while the Chargers snapped a three-game slide with a 45-10 rout in Jacksonville.

Point spread: Vikings -2.5

Pick ATS: LA Chargers

Los Angeles Rams at Dallas Cowboys

Rematch of last season’s Divisional Round playoff game in Los Angeles, won 30-22 by the Rams as they could not be stopped on the ground. L.A. dominated the Seahawks on Sunday 28-12 as Jared Goff threw for 293 yards and two scores. The Cowboys were dominated in a loss in Chicago last Thursday night, with the 31-24 final score not indicative of how that one went. It was Dallas’ third loss in a row as the pressure mounts on Coach Jason Garrett.

Point spread: Cowboys -1

Pick ATS: Dallas

Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers

Current 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is the former offensive coordinator of the Falcons, leaving for San Francisco after Atlanta lost the Super Bowl following the 2016 season. The Falcons really haven’t been the same since. They did win Sunday, though, 40-20 over Carolina. The 49ers now control their own destiny to be the NFC’s top seed thanks to a wild 48-46 win in New Orleans. Robbie Gould kicked a 30-yard field goal as time expired. Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 349 yards and four scores.

Point spread: 49ers -11

Pick ATS: Atlanta

Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers

This was flexed into the Sunday night window – it’s the first time in 12 years that Buffalo will play a Sunday prime-time game. The Bills have the fewest Sunday night appearances of any team in the NFL overall, and they were the only team without a scheduled prime-time game this season. These teams currently hold down the two AFC Wild-Card spots.

Point spread: Steelers -2

Pick ATS: Pittsburgh

Indianapolis Colts at New Orleans Saints, Monday

New Orleans’ three-game winning streak ended in a 48-46 home upset to San Francisco on Sunday. Drew Brees threw for 349 yards and five scores against what was the NFL’s top pass defence. The Colts’ playoff hopes are nearly gone following a third straight loss Sunday, 38-35 at Tampa Bay. Indy allowed 542 yards of offence to the Bucs.

Point spread: Saints -9

Pick ATS: New Orleans
